This recipe takes appx 8 hours to cook, so it's best to make early to eat for dinner, or very late to have for breakfast on cold days.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs stew beef (improv: steak tips)
1/3 cup orange juice with or without pulp
1 & 2/3 cup beef broth (improv: mix with chicken broth or more orange juice if you don't have enough beef)
1 medium onion
Large handful baby carrots
handful sliced mushrooms
2 stalks celery
2 or 3 medium potatoes
1 tsp(???) cinnamon
1 tsp (???) salt
2 tsp (???) pepper
Instructions
- Cut meat into halves. Repeat as necessary until meat is about two bites per piece.
Cut potatoes into chunks of similar size as meat.
Chop carrots and celery.
Cut onion into eighths (aka chop the ******** in half a few times). Outer layer pieces should fit neatly into an adult's mouth.
Separate onion layers from each other. Cut larger pieces in half if necessary.
Layer in crockpot (in this order!):
- mushrooms & onions
carrots & celery
potatoes
meat
Add spices to juice-broth mixture
Pour mixture over ingredients
cover
Cook for 2 hours power high
Cook for 6 hours power low
