That belief system actually sounds kinda appealing to me. But I lack the discipline to stick to any one practice for to long.

Well, you don't have to approach it as a belief system. You could just incorporate it into your attitude, and practice it as a means of confirming your belief.
It turns Religion that could be equated to science (Science and Religion both rely on believing in, and trying to prove theories that are not yet proven), into Religion that could be equated to mathematics (Mathematics rely on people disbelieving and trying to disprove theories, until they are proven correct). This of course is done on a personal level, in which you weigh what you believe in your innermost being against common-sense and fact.
It is also useful when you incorporate it into your daily life. It helps you not to fall prey to everything that people would have you believe.
