I was working on avatar edits. Yes I make them, and I have a nice Sailor Moon collection in my shop.
I notice when I was working on the gowns, that Pluto and Saturn's gowns are the exact same style, but different colors, number of straps, and strap decorations.
It has bugged me over years that all the senshis have different style gowns, but those two. Is it perhaps Nakao ran out of ideas, or is there a meaning why those two our of the ten senshi's that have the exact same style dress?

All of them are similar. It's a theme. Although, yes, theirs are "more similar" than the rest...
I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of them where their backs are showing a bit, and they looked different from behind. I don't remember though...

I agree with Cronus, all of the dresses are based on a similar style. It's just a coincidence that both Pluto's and Saturn are closely alike.
Though there could be a meaning. Considering that there powers do not exactly correspond with the God's of their planet.

They correspond more than you realize, actually. ^^; Saturn and Pluto mythThere have been many times when Takeuchi-sensei was pressured to complete an art project in less time than she was comfortable with, so she had to finish them without enough details. It's possible she got more or less stuck on it, and that's the end result. But I don't know. Also, there have been times when her editor or Kodansha requested changes to something so the pictures would show up well in the magazine, although I don't know what part of their gowns could have required that. Just saying.

Now that you mentioned it, they do look similar to each other. The outers + and Mercury have the same look with the slim dress and the dominate color for an under lining of gowns. Venus and Jupiter's gowns seemed more elegant then then the others.
What ever the reason behind it, I just find it interesting.

Which Princess cast picture are you using as referance? There are four that I can think of... 1. In the garden 2. Moon background in toga-style. 3. In long panels with full body and very windy hair. 4. All lying down covered in red rose.
I think the one you are talking about is 3. Good choice.

I get my references from the artbook. I have no idea where the senshis in togas came from.

All the underlining starts from the waist. Yeah I notice the gem in their pendants matches their corresponding colors, or are you talking about Super Senshis?

Super chokers. In the middle of the star is a circle in their respective main color.

Ah! I never notice they had a gem in the middle of the star. I guess I don't really pay attention to small details lol.

From what the artbook says, I'm not sure if it means that their symbol is in the middle of the gem, or if that's just numbering off stuff. The gem should have been kept in the anime. Along with the long back bows. Also, in the manga, Uranus' & Neptune's gloves get longer in their super forms, unlike the anime.

That is why when I made my edits, I made Uranus and Neptune's gloves the same length as the others =0 I did to wish they kept the long back bows.
