So since I have the DS now *shows* *sparkle sparkle* I have been debating if I should get Japanese coach for the DS. Apparently every Japanese major that has a DS has this game and I am told that it is a effective and unique learning tool to learn Japanese!
What do I think so far?
I for one love it! I am only borrowing it from a friend but it is definitely something I need to invest in! Not only does the game place you by how much Japanese you already know, but it makes everything so simple to understand and to learn. Like what? Things that your Sensei tells you to go over time after time like -kana, vocab and simple sentences already there for you! the Stoke order of the some of the kana is wrong but only a few! Plus Japanese coach sets up fun games for you to learn the vocab with which are a lot more effective than just having flashcards.
What do you guys think, or what have you heard about it?

Great for you, unfortunately I just wouldn't be able to get myself to do it. Not that committed to learning a new language. Laziness is not exactly something I'm proud of... sweatdrop

I own that game,I'm on lesson 36, and I'm loving it! I've learned a lot so far, and I love the reference tab incase you need to check on a word or phrase.

It's a great game for beginners, however some of the stroke orders for the kanas are incorrect. So I wouldn't rely on the game for kana stroke orders. When it comes to grammar though, it's a good start.
