Boshi: The brown Yoshi and the biggest bully on Yoshi's Island. He's mean and disliked by everyone, mostly due to the fact that he doesn't like anyone, except for Baby Bowser. Unlike other Yoshi's, Boshi hates fruits and refuses to eat them. His favorite food is junk food, anything unhealthy. Boshi's name is short for "bad Yoshi", a name he earned himself for his constantly negative attitude.
Sky: The light blue Yoshi and Melon's best friend. He's adventurous and playful. He loves to swim, and spends a lot of his time underwater. His favorite food is blueberries, though he also loves grapes. One of Sky's best qualities is that he's a good friend, a trait that lead him to be Melon's best friend.
Pinky: The pink Yoshi. She's the artist of the group. Her favorite activities include drawing and coloring, and is almost always found with drawing material in her hands. Her favorite food is strawberries. Pinky is very creative, a quality that has lead her to become the artist she is.

Sunny: The yellow Yoshi. She's the most optimistic of the Yoshi's. She loves to surf, and one of the few things that can bring her down is a calm sea on a cloudy day. Her favorite fruit is the banana. Sunny's optimistic attitude shows that her name doesn't only fit her color, but her personality as well.
Night The blue Yoshi. He's high-spirited and the proudest of the group. He loves to climb, and spends most of his time surveying the landscape from the tops of trees. His favorite fruit is grapes. Night's pride comes mostly from the feeling he gets from being "on top of the world."
Orchid: The red Yoshi and the most intelligent of the Yoshi's. She's more cautious than the others, and can sometimes be very shy. She enjoys reading above all other activities, and is rarely found without a book in her hand. Her favorite fruit is the apple. Orchid's habit of constantly reading has lead her to be considered the "brains" of the group.
