KingJack! I like how everyone is so butthurt over a supporting character. But he was an AWESOME supporting character! And it's the fact that the past 70-odd chapters have been about Luffy breaking into an Alcatraz style prison, getting MELTED BY POISON, being healed by a process that put him through extreme pain and takes 10 years off his life, breaking out the prison again and fighting through the seven warlords and HIS OWN GRANDPA, all so that he can stop this supporting character from being killed. And now we find that it's all been for nothing. You do have to admit, that is pretty harsh, if not for Ace, then definatly for Luffy.

Good point, though, Luffy would have done all that for quite a few other people, too. But watch: Ace will magically appear as a ghost, zombie, flesh puppet, or as Yoda.

Ghost, I can't imagine Ace as a zombie. And Ace's death is really going to have shagged Luffy's mind, you know. I have no idea what direction his character development is going to go. That's what saddens me the most about all this. Poor Luffy.

KingJack! But it could be fun to see the series take a surprising turn for the serious...ness. Well, I think that all the other characters are currently doing their own character development, so none of them are going to be hte same when they finally get back together. But what other effect can his brothers death have on him other than making him less cheerful, more serious and more cynical? You can see why I don't like the idea of this major character development. Also, the series as a whole could get really serious anyway, with the emo backstories and such, so there's not much to add other than an extra load of dispair. Having said that, I can't wait for the next chapter.

I love Ace, so I'm pissed and sad that he's gone. Though your right, this might alter Luffy a little. More importantly, how is he going to find all of his nakama. Dang Kuma sent them all flying all over the place. How are they all going to find each other again?

He looks like he's having a mental breakdown!

Ace", Luffy's face made me laugh. I couldn't help it, he looked so stupid! I felt bad for laughing, but you can't deny that face isn't funny.
