Seriously folks. We don't all follow our own advice, but if you need another reason not to overexert yourself beyond your physical capabilities, let me tell you. Passing out in the gym is not fun.

A) you hit your head, if you're lucky like I am, you hit it on the floor and not something metal.

B) you have gym folks holding your head straight to make sure you didn't break your neck for what feels like forever, and it takes about 20 minutes to fill out all the forms and make sure everything's still good/monitoring and what now.

C) they don't let you back in the gym, not even to do little exercises like sit ups.

D) it's *embarrassing*

I knew I was taxing the limits of my body when I set the level I was doing as high as I did. Exercise bike, alpine ride program, level 10, 88ish rpm just before I got off the bike, but this was pretty much at the end of my work out where I passed 6km in 15 min... but I really wanted to see how far I could go in 20 minutes. The level and the speed was hard, really hard, I eventually had to set it down to level 5, and decrease my rpm, but by that time I was already feeling incoherent. I got off the bike and figured I'd breathe deep and get water, but fool me, on my way to the water fountain I blacked out.

I'm not out of shape, I'm in the gym twice a week, every week. I just overexerted myself to the extreme. And hilariously enough, I'm the first person that will tell you to listen to your body.

So... passing out in the gym? Not fun.

Although I did have some crazy kind of vision while I was out, I was riding up a hill on a clear beautiful day, and when I got to the top of the hill I vaulted off the bike and was laying on my back looking up at a clear sky surrounded by people I loved, I was breathing hard and the sensation of breathing hard in the (vision? I would call it that) vision was the sensation of my body sort of rocking back and forth due to convulsions and the person who's head was above me was one of the department managers at the gym who saw me fall.

*Thumbs up*

I'm guessing it's for liability sorts of things. Someone gets hurt there in some manner, they can attempt to sue and that's something most businesses want to avoid.

They don't let you back the same day. I only got a quarter of my work out in because I was stupid. ._.

Going back after being embarrassed is a different story.

D: That sounds quite unpleasant, at least you're not seriously hurt though.

I have the opposite problem though, I tend to not push myself hard enough at the gym, because I'm too shy to attempt to use the machines I don't understand and weight lifting.

My goodness, that's terrible.

At least you're okay. c:

I'm too embarrassed to go to the gym in the first place.
I just run on the treadmill at our house. -___-
