~Once Man but Now Perceiving Human~
SCATTER!
Crash to the floor with the beat of sweat down my neck
Terror passionate but ever so still
Left lying down on the floor for hours
but it was merely minutes
Skin trickling off the body
but it was merely sweat
Dieing from a bullet wound
but it was only paranoia
Upon the feet, crawling on stomach to the wall
Scratching desperately to find what it was
Then, a bullet found pierced through the wall
Reaching out and holding it to the moon's light
or was there no window?
A friend bursting in through the door, shaking by the shoulders
Of course you were alright, but did he or you know that?
You show him the bullet with an eager smile
one where only someone has hit rock bottom could show
You act as if he should take the bullet
You act as if he could do something about the bullet
You act like he could do something about you
You act like there is a bullet in your hand
Putting your hands down, he asks what you want
You can only say nothing
He asks to show him what the problem is
You point to nothing
He asks what you heard
and of course, you heard nothing
The bullet is now gone along with the hole in the wall
Desperation kicks in wondering what happened to the fear
what happened to the paranoia
what happened to your life
Finally, after falling into darkness, you awake
Palms sweaty and the stench of fear spoils the air
Your glade what you didn't know was over
and what you thought you knew was a dream
You act like it's done
You act like it was all a dream
You act like you can finally start the day
You act like your
awake...
I know it seems more of a story but I love the idea of perception.
