Mine take animal form i used to have a wolf but our time together has ended and i have grown beyond what he had to teach me though if i call on him he will still come to me he was with me for many many years and i find comfort in him when I'm really upset or scared. I have two now a bear and a crane bear doesn't much talk i get the feeling he's more a protector and crane always is willing to answer my questions though normally its with another question. I never felt the need to figure out their names the name just seemed unimportant i didn't need it to identify them, each one of their voices and energies are different and unique though, i have had a spirit try before to imitate one and all it did was left me confused and mistrusting. They can and will take the shape that best fits with you at least in my experience i myself am suspicious of humans and don't really relate well to them. I'm much more comfortable with animals so they take animal form for me. heart
