Scarlet Dusk Li Feng Soft Pastel Scarlet Dusk Li Feng Soft Pastel Scarlet Dusk Li Feng Quote: THE BOOK GOES BLANK. Let me repeat myself. THE BOOK. GOES BLANK.WTF seriously?! There's 10 blank pages in New Fail with nothing written on them?!? No, they just have a month on each page. I think it goes "October" -flips page- "November" -flips page- "December" -flips page- "January" -flips page- "February" -another page- "March" -flips- "April". Or something like that. It was a waste of paper. D: Indubitably! You know what the ironic/sad/hysterically funny aspect of the link from stoney321 is? Everything he/she says about Mormons is right! I mean, I have yet to meet a mormon that isn't what is described throughout the blog. My former best friend is hardcore mormon in every sense, sans the fact that her current husband isn't a poligamist. But that whole thing about the perfect man, everything has to be about that family, having a child is the most imporant thing, etc is her life. After she got out of high school, she was just set on getting married so she could have kids. Every guy she dated she was convinced was going to propose, and every guy she crushed on, she had her future with them all planned out. Here's the really sad part, she got so convinced that her ex was going to marry her, "because we talk about it all the time" she actually gave her virginity to him (a big no-no for mormons since they have to abstain from premartial sex) and after this happens a few more times, he breaks up with her. So she was so crushed by this, that she moved back to SLC Utah. Then, she gets a Myspace message from a male friend of hers that confesses his love for her and they start a long-distance relationship. Unfortunately for him, he goes off on his Mission and she promises to wait the two years for him to get back and be married....that is, until she meets the newest soulmate and after barely even three months of dating, he proposes and she excitedly and willingly accepts (the most obvious reason being it was conveinient for her because he was there unlike the other guy she promised to marry and her deadline of being married was fast approaching). So finally after 7 to 8 months of being married to Mr. Right-There she gets pregnant and is happy as a clam because she finally got what she had wanted after coming back from being homeschooled for a year. sad Holy crap, your friend's life should be made into some Mormon sitcom. Are they really THAT desperate to get married? Some beliefs are quite scary. o3o You bet your sweet patootie they are! The whole purpose of a woman in their religion is to have as many babies as possible and to support/take care of her man as he works, while she cooks/cleans/raises the kids etc. I even remember the shock from the day she was over at my house hanging out and watching TV when she gets a text from one of her friends and gets all giddy (like a fangirl) because her friend's boyfriend proposed to her (the friend) after they had been dating for two weeks. Two weeks. Not months or years. Weeks. And I ask why they'd get married if they had only been dating for such a short amount of time and my friend explains to me the reason they did is because "they're so in love"! That is weird, no offense. Frankly, Stephenie Meyer perpetuates the stereotype on Mormon women bring weak and stupid.

She really does think that it doesn't matter how long (or in most cases not very long) you're with someone because as long as you're in love, everything else is irrelavent. sweatdrop @Angelo: At least she's to-the-point. I skimmed over some of those links about the Mormon ideal of women, and they basically pull a "I'm not saying you do, I'm just saying you do" kind of thing. Which is where they said something along the lines of, "The important role in a woman's life is to go to church every Sunday and learn the teachings of Joseph Smith so as she can properly educate her family. It is important that a woman teaches these values to her children so they can become good Mormons. It is also important that a woman has many children. While it is the man's role to go out of the house and work for a living, it is important that a woman stays home and raises her children. A woman can be free to go out and further educate herself as so she can obtain a job, but she cannot be away from her family home for to long if she wants to raise her children properly".
