Je ete au bal
That song is hard as balls. No freaking kidding. Somebody needs to punch Grantham in the face for that song. It's college comissioned but hey it's got a rocking basoon part.
Childrens March, Over the Hills and far away. : D Basoon solo starts the song. The bassoon's end the song. BEST SONG EVER.
And Divertimento. But our BD thinks it's too easy for us so we're probably going to change it.
We're taping for Texas Honor Band this year so we're pretty gutsy considering our selection.

Peutaiite I played Celtic Air and Dance back in Middle School. Ahh, good memories of that song. Although we did play it a tad too much. :/ We never got to perform it because our BD would rather have Beat It by MJ instead of Celtic Air and Dance D':

we started playing that one, but when our bd looked at it on the list they had it set at a grade 3 i think, so we decided to go with something a little harder, not for certain though, we still looking. but i did love this song when we played it.

well, we have 2 pieces picked for sure for our next concert and they are Simple Gifts, which is actually an arrangement of 4 different shaker melodies, "In yonder valley, Dance, Here take this lovely flower, and simple gifts" could not find a link to the arrangement we are playing though
Ice Breakers, could not find a link for this one either.

by the rivers of babylon it's a neat song.. but it's a bit too junior high band for my taste rehearsing it in class is so boring because it's not a challenge at all
aaand
chorale and shaker dance II which is also not much of a challege uuuugh
we just got a new director a few months ago, and he's been really taking it easy with his choices
also, we're doing our first ever concert for the student body, and he wants us to play pop.. music.. gonk never in the history of EVER has my band played anything that.. embarrassing

We're playing a Jethro Tull medley, a Yes medley, Air by Billy Joel, and Shine On You Crazy Diamond, by Pink Floyd, I think (correct me if I'm wrong ^_^'), and some other stuff our director hasn't told us about yet.

Orff's Carmina Burana, all 13 movements of it. A more epic peice of music has not been composed. We had a combined middleschool/high school concert last night and just played movements 1, 2, 7, and 9. Scared the crud outta them.
@rainbowbright666- Percy Grainger?! Our BD worships him, even has a giant pic of Grainger on the wall above the board in the band room.
@svalur- I remember Chorale and Shaker Dance II. Our band palyed it a few years back.
