Alright, I finally took the time (which i seem to have alot of in the mornings up here on campus, since all my classes are in the evening) to update the display of entries that have been submitted. So far so good, but the contest isnt over yet! If you have desire to enter, but havent had the time to sit down and do some hardcore tektek'ing, please dont hesitate to let me know and keep me updated. Otherwise, you might miss out on a great opportunity to make some free gold for the simple aspect of creativity!
Oh, and I thought about it, and guess what? The gold cap is not moving. Not now, not soon, not ever. The gold cap for entry designs will remain at 100,000g . Now, I will allow some leverage if someone goes over a slight amount, but if anyone purposefully exceeds the limit, their entry will not be considered in the contest, and will be flagged as such, and they will have to try again.
HOWEVER.. I have increased the reward size.. Now, if that doesnt inspire creativity, I'm not sure what else i can do to bring it out of yall, aside from jumping through a flaming hoop!
35,000 GOLD is the new prize for the winning design. Now, if anyone has picked up on things, this contest has morphed slightly from being to help me find a new look for my avatar, into being an all out creative tektekking contest. I love seeing what people can come up with creatively when given guidelines, but freedom of expression.
Truth is, I've found my look already, but by running this right now, I have something to look forward to at the end of the day, to get to sit down with my woman, and see new entries, then for us together to compare them with the previously submitted entries. For that, the reward is soooooooo worth it. Although, my fiance is getting just as ansy about things, because I told her that there's a good chance that I might have her help me pick the winner when the time comes, because I tend to be indecisive about many things.
There are a few people I am keeping the contest open for ability to enter, whom deserve the chance, what with personal life issues complicating things for them right now. Once they do, I will probably then announce the deadline to the contest for voting.
Until then, keep creating, keep submitting. Yall know the deal. 100,000g value limit, anything goes, as many entries as you please. Present reward: 35,000g. Deadline to be announced, but currently unknown.

At least give us hints about which ones you like the most so we can know what your style and taste are. You want our creativity, but we need your opinion. Trying to enter a contest blind is hard. And making it go on for an eternity is boring. Give it a deadline.

It's not about my style and taste. It's about creativity within limitation of value. Sometimes, blind creativity is the best inspired creativity, and it's not going for an eternity. There are other contests active at this time, also tektek related, and they started before mine. I feel it would be inappropriate to bring an end to mine before those, when theirs was started before mine. Everything has it's place in time, and time in place. The wait wouldnt be so "boring" if the time is put to use.
Most contests have limitations to entry amounts. Anyone can submit unlimited entries, and it gives them a higher chance. The less someone enters, the less chance they have. Kinda like a raffle, but with unlimited tickets, and all it costs is a free moment of time on Tektek.org
Regarding the deadline however, I have had a few people inform me that they have intention to enter, but are dealing with some life things, and I respect that. Just be patient. The contest will get it's deadline when it is appropriate for. Besides, the longer it goes on, the higher the value of the reward for the winning entry.
Anyone who is growing impatient while anticipating the outcome of this contest, take a breath, relax, and pass the time by flooding this topic with variety of entries to raise your own chances. That's the best way to go about it.

Is this all that's coming out of this contest? I'd love it if i could say I'm not surprised, but to be honest, I am very much surprised. The ability to have relative freedom to design a tektek in your own spare time, and post it for a chance to win lots of gold.. I'd have thought that with the clan numbers being so great these days, that people would jump at the chance to participate.
Yeah, it started out being for a purpose, then turned into something that would give me the enjoyment to see the creative expression of others. I figured that letting the only limitation be the price cap on the designs would inspire people.
Oh well. I'll give it a little more time, and if the thread stays without activity, I'm gonna wrap up the contest. At least that will make some people happy, and one special person VERY happy.

Alright. Well, It's been a whole week since the last posting to this contest, so I've decided I'm closing it. Along with this decision, I've taken time to look over all the entries, and have picked a winner.
