"Riders on the Storm" is the best for a rainy day, especially if your travelling at night.

Hmm...true true.

i could understand roadhouse blues but riders on the storm wasn't about driving. it was somewhat of an autobiographical account of Morrison's life. he considered himself to be a rider on the storm. and the killer on the road was a reference to his screenplay "the hitchhiker" the lyrics "you gotta love your man" can be seen as a desperate plea to his long time girlfriend Pamela.

yeah but if you dont want to read along the context. A song doesnt have to be about driving to make it a good driving song. It depends on the circumstances of where, when, weather, ect of the drive

Lol, you took what I was gonna say, tm =P

But yeah, I agree. Songs to have to be about driving for you to enjoy driving to them. Setting is a good was to describe the importance of a song in the car as well. =) I agree.

Waiting for the Sun moments before dawn, that actually happened this year to me while driving. It fit more than perfectly. Overall The Doors make a pretty good band to listen to while driving (not limited to).
