ALPHA FEMALE
she hissed at the drawn weapon, and it became a growl as she spoke. there was a deepness to her voice, a hollow quality that spoke of forest and rivers and the earth, and her own gaze met the cavalier's evenly without fear.
"Be not a fool. If I had wished harm I would not have thrown myself so carelessly into the midst of your company - I am a hunter, a warrior, not stupid."
a scorn touched her words, a scolding quality even as she spoke to him like the child that she saw him as, and she waited for the sword to be lowered. when that did not happen in a moment's breath she continued with a hint of impatience of her own.
"I come with a warning, and a message, unless you are too drunk to recognize a safe path out of your predicament, boy."
this she emphasized, despite the momentary grimace of the cavalier, for she could smell the sex of her.

Jonathon turned to the sound of the cart creaking to a new addition among their small, but growing still, group of characters. Seeing only half of the transformation from wolf to human, he was unsure of the nature, or purpose, of such a creature. At the sight of Kaiden's rapier, Jonathon turned from his steed and placed his hand upon his sheath, only slightly releasing his sword from it's care.
"And what do you come to warn us of, beast? Be forewarned that I will not tolerate any deceit, or harm upon those before you."
Jonathon in no way enjoyed the manner in which she had appeared before them, so quick to take advantage of their focus on departing from the village. However, if this creature were here under a legitimate cause to warn them of what lies ahead, he would hear it first. Such knowledge could mean the lives of his lord and companions, but could also spell their doom if taken without any suspicion. His hand never left the hilt of his sword as she spoke.

ALPHA FEMALE
Despite the drawn weapon the woman/wolf continued at Jonathon's inquiry. Time was short, growing shorter every second, and she would not let a point of steel stop her from speaking the warning that she had come to deliver.
"You'll find no escape on the roads. They are patrolled by my pack, more wolves like myself that have been forced into servitude. They have your scent so you will have to keep moving but if you take to expected routes their way will be made easier."
She hesitated only a moment, knowing in her heart that as she spoke she committed herself to exile and death... but even that was greater honor than what had befallen the pack.
"Please.." If possible, her features did soften. "Please... do not kill them. They will hunt you, and I know they would kill you for her, but know that they have no choice. I know I have no right but please.. if you have mercy show it."
She stood then, once more proud, and hopped up onto the edge of the cart to crouch into a ready position.
"I will do what I can to help you if you spare my pack. Kill the Witch, she's the one that commands them now."
And with that she leapt over them once more, shifting in flight, and landed a wolf again. Her small, lithe form danced through their legs and sprinted off the way she had come leaving them with the warning.

[Tristram]
All in all it had defiantly been a odd day, night, well just about everything about the time spent with this new group was odd. Now to top it off it seemed they had found something to make the matter go from odd to just plain weird. As the wolf had jumped through the cart Tristram had clicked his sword can in preparation to draw the hidden blade, but held it as the creature transformed. Seeing the naked woman suddenly put the nobleman on the path of curiosity, and in more ways than one. For the first few legs of the short journey Tristram had been the driver of the make shift wagon and got more than a full view of the wolf woman. However listening to the wolf woman's message brought everything back to perspective and had the inquisitive nobleman less curious and more wishing to suddenly wake up and find himself the victim of some horrible dream brought on by too much wine.
With a sigh Tristram knew that such was not the case and he was still waist deep in this foul smelling predicament and he seemed to still be sinking. The wolf woman departed as suddenly and swiftly as she had arrived. Tristram stood with his left hand cupping his right elbow, while his right hand stroked the point of his chin. More pieces to the puzzle along with more revelations that only brought more questions. A witch, that explained a lot or it did well enough for Tristram at the moment. Matters of magic he found to not dispute often lest he be on the end of a fireball.
"Well you heard the lupine woman, I think we should follow her warning. None of us are really ready for another fight and not with a full pack of witch controlled wolves. I shall make for the roads less traveled by, and hope it will make all the difference."

- - - [Hippolyta, the Troll. "Lyta"] Lyta remained quiet and thoughtful throughout. The sight of the she-wolf turning into an unprotected she-human not particularly phasing her at all, the entirety of it lost upon her. Sparing only chance glances to everyone occasionally for a moment's respite from her thoughts, Lyta eventually turned to Kira. It took her a while before she said anything, lost in thought as she was. She was only looking for some thought or thing to help and came up with only a handful. Some thoughts came to mind, none of them to her liking. Still, she wanted to help and though some of the offers would tug at her heart greatly for the separation, she could not write them off.
Unsure how best to propose one of her ideas at first, Lyta bit down hard on her feelings... but when she did, her tone suffered for it, low and humble even for a troll, "If Lyta can, she could go with another cart and make a distraction? If it is filled with your scents? Lyta could move through without harming the wolf-things and move on to meet back with you? Then you all could take a safer path while they follow? Yes?"

"I dislike the idea of stealing yet another cart, but I see no other option. If you are certain that you can accomplish this task unharmed, Lyta, I see no reason to object."
Jonathon lifted his leg back over his steed, and prepared himself for a much longer, less direct, journey. He was confident he could make it, but the other roads would be less managed and much more difficult to traverse. There are also always the threat of something other than wolves looming around, but he was willing to take his chances. The were-kin seemed earnest enough, and in the interest of the safety of the others, he had no choice but to trust the information. Jonathon rides up to the front of the wagon, nearing his lord and speaking to the group as whole.
"Are there any objections to Lyta's plan?"

[Kaiden Morgan]((roll for shrugging off the wound))
“I'll go too.” Kaiden said, straightening up with a sudden and surprising show of both strength and energy. She felt it too, whether it was a boon from adrenaline or simply foolhardiness, and she resisted the attempts of the maiden to putting her back down onto her back. Her head swam slightly with the amount of alcohol she'd taken but it had also numbed the pain in her arm, still slung closely to her chest, and with that she was able to begin to stand. Shakily as it was she did manage it even with the maiden doing everything in her power to put her down.
Decicively, and not at all gently, Kaiden swatted Kira's hands away from her and ended up causing the maiden to land with a -thump- on the bottom of the cart. Without looking at what she'd done, keeping what focus she had on the task she'd decided on and bolstering herself against any arguments she might receive, she drew her rapier with the good hand she had left. Luckily she was just as skilled with both.
“They'll track my scent the best, and I can keep up.” There was no room for denial of that statement in either her voice or the determined look in her eye, but she did settle it on the office. “But instead of a cart, we'll travel better if you lend me your horse. She'll leave quite the smell behind her too, if the idea is stealth then it's best to add her to the diversion.” She made no promise to keep the horse in good health or return her, how could she? Even if the troll was certain that she could make it through the wolves without being hindered Kaiden wasn't, for either of them, and wouldn't make a promise she couldn't keep.
[Kira Knightingale]
Unable to get a word in otherwise Kira settled with muffled noises of protest and then a pouty sniff as she was cast aside and landed, rudely, on her bottom. Any look of indignation she might have spared otherwise was dismissed though, standing herself at the last of Kaiden's words, but she made no further efforts to lay the cavalier down. If he would not have it then she would no longer insist on it.
The thought of Lyta going off alone though, and Kaiden wounded, would not sit with her.
“No!” She said stubbornly, crossing her arms. She didn't care how childish it appeared, she would not abandon not just one friend but two to go running through wolf infested territory to encounter who knew what. “No.” She repeated, though this time it was more an answer to her inner thoughts than any purposeful reiteration.
“There's no reason to put anyone in any unnecessary danger, we're all in it together anyways.”

- - - [Hippolyta, the Troll. "Lyta"] Hearing Kira say 'no' made Lyta's mind as well, she would do her best to make Kira's way the way, though she thought Kira agreed that Lyta going out alone would be best. Her stoneskin was the best way. Fangs could not break stone. They could not. Straightening she looked to Kaiden, nearly on eye level upon the cart, with caring and hard eyes. With a grim determination in her voice tempering her care, she spoke to Kaiden specifically, "Then we shall clean you of your scent, Lyta can take your many skins with her. That caught with your scents and bring them with her. She can let these creatures have the scent and the skins and leave them without danger to herself or them."
She did not want to force the matter, she was open now, but she had thought of two more ways to press the matter... She was a well-formed troll and she was quite strong. Used to wielding all sorts of unwieldy things, such as people.
Other stones in Lyta made busy during her words and thoughts by bringing gentle hands to console and help Kira up from where she had fallen. Others spared her a motherly smile, as if indulging a pouty child by giving her, her way. A very large, very loyal and very protective mother.

[Tristram]
Tristram did not much like losing their best defensive fighter but he could not deny the logic in a distraction either. Even if they did take to the small roads eventually they would be forced into a conflict with the wolves and it might very well lead to deaths on either side. There scent was most likely a large one at this point, especially with so many wounded with dried blood on bandages, and sweat from their recent battles they probably could be smelled by even the youngest of wolves. If the diversionary tactic could by them enough time to find a place to properly recuperate then it would be the most beneficial course of action to take.
"The troll makes since and the idea seems sound. If anyone can defend against a pack of wolves I would think it would be a troll. I would wager she has lived a long life in these woods, or ones similar, and tangled with many a creature gathered in large numbers. If we are to split up and regroup at another time we need to know the place. Unfortunately I'm not overly knowledgeable about our whereabouts at the present, if anyone knows of a town or even some landmark that is easily recognizable from a distance that would serve best."

[Kaiden Morgan]
"Kira!" She hissed the woman's name, grabbing her by the arm strongly and turning the red-head to face her. It was not the time for this girl's affinity for adventure and happy endings, those wolves meant business.
Kaiden looked up at "Lyta", the troll, and shook her head quickly. "There's no time to rid us of this scent, those wolves will be able to track anything. They're not the common bloodhounds Nobles use in the fox hunts, they don't hunt for sport, their senses are trained for survival and now they're hunting us."
She turned then to Kira and looked her straight in the eye, a directness not often seen between two strangers, and adopted a seriousness in her tone that belied that only the two of them existed for that moment.
"Kira, you stay with the Nobleman and the Officer..." She hesitated then, not sure how the girl would take to, because they can protect you, and took Tristram had said to complete her sentence. "They'll need your knowledge of this place. You have been here before, you will know where to lead them."
She didn't wait then for Kira's response, taking her by the arm again and pushing her towards the Nobleman.
"We don't have time to convince the maiden," She turned back to Lyta then, her own determination meeting the eyes of the troll's. "If we're to keep her safe then this is how it must be."
[Kira Knightingale]
Kira gave an appreciative smile to Lyta as she was helped to her feet and began dusting off the seat of her skirt absent mindedly just as she was grabbed by the arm again and twisted around to face the cavalier. He was so forceful that she couldn't resist the blush that rose to color her cheeks, his gaze so direct. He certainly wasn't charming but there was an attractiveness about him and his forcefulness that blocked any words of protest from her mind as he spoke.
"I may know a place..." She began as he spoke of her knowledge but cut it off with a yelp as she was tossed bodily at the Nobleman.
There was no arguing, she could see that now. Though she was too stubborn to admit it she did share a brief glance with the cavalier and in it was mutual understanding. As he finished speaking again she raised her voice to be heard, "The lake, in the forest."
It was all she said, though she knew that he heard her and, because he did not turn to question her, she knew that there was no confusion either. She turned slightly away then, struggling with her own impulse to resist this horrid plan that would take both Lyta and the wounded cavalier away from her care, and a little voice hoped that it would be done before she had the time to fight it once more.

Jonathon watched the exchange between the Kira and Kaiden take place from atop his horse. He had found Kira once before, and had returned her to them, and was now under script to protect his Lord Tristram. With Kira under the responsibility of Tristram, and his duty being the survival of his Lord, he made it clear with a determined and unwavering look to Kaiden that he would see to protect their lives, and maintain his honor.
"I will personally see that she returns to the rest of you. I swear on my life and my honor, that as long as it in within my power, no harm will come to Kira."
It may have sounded over righteous, or even as if it were beyond his control, but he had never told a lie, nor broken a promise that he had made. He would die before he would see a single drop of Kira's blood, or his Lord's, go unanswered. It was the life of an officer, and the purpose of his servitude. To protect.
