No, I was saying I DON'T like the idea of Romana being president. Or the mysterious woman, for that matter. And no offense, but the woman being the Doctor's mother is not as stupid as her being Susan (or Romana). Susan and Romana have no business being anywhere near Gallifrey (Susan's on Earth and Romana's in e-space as far as anyone knows until the show says otherwise, and both of them are highly unlikely to be on good terms with the Time Lords), but the Doctor's mother at least has no good reason NOT to be there and on the high council. It just plain makes more sense.

I don't think the producers worry too much about the old series. For example, there's the whole idea of the time war. It would seem that sinse the old series, the Time Lords have changed their ways, because if they were so strict about not interfereing, surely starting a war with the largest empire around goes against their rules? The Auton planets got destroyed as a result.

Yes... That does bug me a lot... I am not a fan of the new, not-so-improved Time Lords. xp

The Time Lords weren't interfering, though. They were saving, as they saw it, the world from the inexorable rise of the Daleks who planned to just demolish the whole universe to make a place for their empire.
The fact that this then led them to decide to do that themselves is neither here nor there. War is hell and all and it's awfully hard to write coherent backstory for time gods :/
