Ugh... Just my luck to go to another atheist site right before visiting. Did you know that the Bible is far more sexist than Twilight? Still, Twilight is pretty bad. People actually read it... and LIKE it. And take it seriously. The Bible? It's been reworded and twisted so much it doesn't make sense anymore. So anyway, I guess the Bible in some ways can be just as damaging if not more than Twilight. So would I say they're comparable? In some degree, yes.

I find that offensive as well.. as bad as it is to try to bring Twilight up to the Bible's level, its worse to bring the Bible down to Twilight's level. D: A person who has been raised in a Christian environment like myself would be highly offended by that.
With my peers [almost] all being Catholic schoolgirls, I strongly believe that Twilight has a far worse effect on them than the Bible does.

I think with all the different branches of Christianity out there, the Bible is left up to interpretation of the reader. Especially with all the mistranslations in it from constant translation over time. I don't go to Church anymore because I tend to disagree with some interpretations, gender wise, moral, historical and scientific.

Twilight on the other hand makes itself very clear on what it thinks girls ought to do with their lives and actions. So I wouldn't be bringing the two to the same level.

Additionally, hardly anyone actually takes the time to read the Bible nowadays anyway, do you expect an average thirteen year-old girl to read religious text and analyze its meaning and debated ideas in her free time? I think she's going to settle for an easy read like Twilight. Therefore, Twilight is going to have more of an effect on her.

Precisely what I was getting at. Twilight was done by one person with clear intentions, and the Bible was written by hundreds of people over hundreds of years, and left open to interpretation. (Still, faith has caused a lot of damage. Let's consider ourselves lucky there hasn't been a bloody Twilight Crusade.)
