I have to say this is probably the best Christmas event in a looong time!
And no Anon, I don't think it's annoying or anything.
And you're right, those little cloud faces are cute!

*grumbles because the exchange still isn't working* i want my zOMG Ribbon, dammit
anyone else having better luck than me at getting any of the Christmas items in zOMG? i'm wondering how the hell i'm supposed to get 30 Coal-ossal Fails for the Coal Sprite recipe before the end of the event when i've only gotten one or two :/ everyone attacks whatever killer present shows up, so if you don't kill it before them, you don't get anything, and even barring that, it seems all i get is useless recipes i don't care about, gold, or loot i don't need >.< *sigh* i think they could have done a better job on it.

It's the same exact event as last year. A lot of the devs that do the art/sprite work for zOMG are the same devs that do EIs. They just didn't have time to do a new event because the Christmas season is too busy, and they had to focus on the site event first. Ever since Qixter left as a dev, the zOMG team has gotten smaller and smaller. There are only 5 or 6 people now, instead of the original 13. I talk to one of the devs personally. He stayed up all night a lot of nights just to get this zOMG event working right with the new system. I believe he's sick atm, now, but he's still helping with the site event as much as he can.
The devs work hard to give us what we have, so I don't complain. =3 I believe the dev I talk to is one of the few zOMG only devs left.
EDIT: ALSO, ATTN EVERYONE!! Go to the cheer meter on the event page and click the gold present!! You get a tinsel halo. ^^

And I hope the ZOMG! dev starts to feel better. Christmas is one of the worst and stressful times for things, and getting sick just does not help things.
