It didn't take Rama long to sniff the creature out and when she came to the fence of the large garden she was relieved to find he was in there alone. No humans were anywhere near this place and it made her relax a little more.

She took a few minutes to sniff around the perimeter, in order to discover the best way to get inside. She didn't want to make a scene, didn't want to have to harm the fence...didn't want to leave traces of her presence here...finally she decided to just go in the front gate. She glared at the latch, tipped it with her nose and walked right inside.

Making her way slowly to the center of the garden, Rama was startled by the huge figure of a man-only to snicker at herself for being startled by a statue. It was then that she noticed a tiger...larger than any she had ever seen...lounging on a bench.

"Well, you must be the smell I caught...you're rather large, aren't you?" she said with humor sparkling in her eyes...she kept her distance anyway, her muscles tensed and ready to move if need be. Tigers were nothing to mess with when away from the pack.

"Your Very Loud. I heard you from inside the castle. Vee did not move, instead he rolled on his back and stretched a yawn. Purring.

"I'm not here to stop you, Or harm you. Ferals of all kind are welcome here. We even have a pipe fox in the water temple that way."

Vee flashed a picture of temple through his mind to the wolf. "However, I do need to know why you are here. I can not have one of our kind wrecking the delicate balance we have in this city. It is rare for us to have any kind of pact with humans. It is part of my charge In the city. I may even be able to help you." He rolled to his side and let his paws hang off the bench again, Looking at the wolf waiting for a reply.

Rama eyed him cautiously, not sure whether to believe him or not...but finally, after looking him in the eye for a moment, she decided he was sincere and she took a seat, dipping her head respectfully while he spoke.

The young wolf was relieved to hear of the pact the humans had with her kind here, relieved that the tiger wasn't going to try and stop her and grateful he was willing to help her if he could...but most of all she was relieved she wasn't going to be faced with a fight that would inevitably end in her being mauled and eaten. She shuddered at the thought, hoped the tiger hadn't noticed.

"I'm Rama, of the Moon Clan." she began. "I'm not here to make trouble, I intend to remain unseen and unheard by the humans if at all within my power. I was loud before, yes, I was intentionally. It was my desire to draw someone out, a mage, a seer, even one such as yourself, though I didn't expect it." she explained calmly, keeping her eyes on his the entire time. She wouldn't be intimidated, she had nothing to fear and nothing to hide. "I was sent by my alphas to seek and find a Seer if at all possible...our pack serves as protectors to a girl of great importance and she is in need of help, training, before she is taken ill by her own abilities." There. Quick, precise, to the point. Hopefully there would be something that could be done quickly.

She stood, rolling her shoulders to loosen them as they had stiffened up after being still for so long. She hadn't stretched or walked enough after running so far for so long and the cold night air had made muscles clench all over her body. "My alphas are old, Arkah and Tirzah, they've lead our pack for centuries. You may know them. It was by Arkah's direct order and request that I was sent on my search." It hadn't, of course, occurred to the younger wolf that her pack had not been heard of by anyone. Her pack was her world and this had been her first experience alone and away from them.

Vee hooped to his feet and jumped down from the bench. "I am Called Vee. One of the last of the saber clan. I have meet your Alphas before, Our charges were once close." Vee walked over to rama and sat. "Though it pains me, i can not help you personally with your girl. I have my own to protect. He looked at the castle in the distance.

"However if it is seers or mages you seek, the city is bursting with them. The seers are rarer since the purge, Many went underground to prevent their death. I do not know any personally, but i do know there is a conclave of sorts in the east side of the city. I would start there. Vee flashed a image of a plain building near a river that ran through the city. It was only two stories high, plain white marble. "There might not be anybody there, but it should put you on the right trail."

Vee walked past Rama towards the gate and stopped. "I must go now. I have been gone to long. It was nice to meet you Rama of the moon clan. A final warning. Stay out of the sewers in the center of the city. Less you be eaten by a dragon." With that he jumped the fence and headed towards the castle.

He could not help but smile. It was a long time since he did something like that. Every Concrete bench in the park was completely covered with flowers and vines. The gardeners would have a heart attack in the morning.

Rama stood as Vee did, glad he knew her pack leaders-that at least gave her some credibility. She listened carefully, not interrupting while he spoke, taking int he images he sent her that would direct her to the home where the Seers resided.

"I thank you, even this much help is greatly appreciated." She replied when he had finished. He mentioned how this could probably put her on the right track, regardless of anyone being there or not. He then made his way to the gate to leave, saying how he had been gone too long already and then leapt the gate after leaving her with a warning that made Rama's eyes pop open.

"A dragon?!" Before she was finished with her exclamation, the gigantic tiger was gone. Rama gulped and looked around herself, as if afraid the dragon would leap out at her now...her surprise, however, came from the vegetation that surrounded her. Everything was covered with flowers and vines as if this were a jungle.

"We appear to share an element...I may meet with you again before I return to my pack, mighty tiger." she said to herself. She needed someone with more experience to give her a few tips in control, he may be the one to do it. But that was a thought for later, after she finished her mission.

Rama turned and walked gracefully and silently out the front gate as she had come and commanded a vine to close the door and latch it as she went.

Argus was fifteen again. Young strong, A full head of brown hair. He was happy. He worked at his father's apothecary. The days where dull and long in those days. Like many young men his age, he craved adventure, hating the quiet life. He lived in a small town. Less than two hundred, outside the evergreens.

More than once he thought of leaving. But he could not. His father was sick, his mother already passed, And no other family. It was up to him to run the shop for his father. He could not refuse.

Life was not all bad. Today was the day. His dream girl Maria would come in and fill a order. Like she always did week after week. A beautiful woman. Slender and a bit tall for women of the age, she had long black hair and blue eyes. She had a tendency to where white. *I hope she wears white* Argus became lost in his fantasy of the girl.

To his embarrassment he did not even noticed when she walked in. She was beautiful as always. She had on her white dress that covered most of her body. Flowers braided into her hair. She smelled slightly of spices. It was a welcome surprise when she moved here 4 months ago.

"Well hello Argus. How are you today?" Argus could not help but stutter. "I-I'm Fine, thank y-you." Maria just giggled. "Is my order ready?" Argus nodded. "Y-yes, its in the back. Please wait here." Argus went to the back room and picked out the package labeled Maria. When he came back she was not in the room.

He heard a thump, and what sounded like screaming upstairs. Not thinking he bounded forward towards the noise. He stopped at the door hearing the fighting inside. "You stole from me and thought you could get away with it. You are a fool Tares. I will have your head!" That was Maria's voice. But it could not be her, She was sweet and innocent.

He heard his father cough. "Its nice to see you again Mary, Its been years." He heard a shuffle metal clanging together and then a dagger protruded from inches from his head. "Is that the best you got, Cant even kill a sick old man."

He finally got brave enough to open the door to see what was going on.. His father was in front of the window, sword at the ready. Black and gray hair, he was the splitting image of what Argus would be some day. Even sick he looked dangerous. He was dressed in his sleeping cloths. Across from him wielding two daggers was Maria, But not Maria. She was older. More mature. Instead of being in her teens she looked in her late forties.

Argus was Confused. Maria spoke, "Nice life you have going here its to bad i have to end it. First ill kill you, then ill move on to your son. He likes me you know. I think ill have some fun with him first." Argus growled "You wont touch him!" He saw his father charge her, Swinging his sword in a downward cleaved motion. She sidestepped, and brought one of her daggers down behind his back.

Tares spun before the dagger made contact and spun, his sword deflecting the dagger. Her other dagger came down and cut his sleeve. "I expected better from you. You use to be the best of us." Tares did not waste time speaking. He moved close and landed a kick in the stomach. Maria backed away. The blow shaking her. she accidently dropped a dagger. "I still am the best."

That is when Tares noticed his son looking through the door. It was only a second. Maria took that second and buried her dagger into his shoulder, pushing him down with her weight. She held him to the floor and pulled out another dagger. "And now you die!" She brought the dagger up, and then froze. Cold hard metal was protruding from her Chest. Argus, to save his father, had picked up the dagger she had dropped and ran her through. She looked into his eyes. "You-u kill-led me-" she fell over dead.

Argus let go of the dagger, and back away sickened at what he had done. His father quickly pushed her off of him and pulled the dagger out. He checked for poison. There was none. so he walked over to his son. He took him into his arms, "You did good, Everything will be ok."

...

"Everything will be ok." The words still stuck in his mind as he woke up. He sat up fast. His head pounding. And within seconds was throwing up.
