Everyone else is sharing their dreams and I've had a lot of fun reading them and giving my opinions and sharing my commentary. So it's only fair that I put myself on the chopping block, right? lol! Here's the description of the most interesting dream (and probably one of the freakiest) I've ever had. Please feel free to share your own comments and opinions about it! Seriously.. I'm curious. xD

My family and I had decided to go on a winter vacation. We'd got our own cabin right beside the slopes and were there to ski for the weekend. When I stepped out of the car with my bags, off to my right I saw a large mansion. That wouldn't have stuck out, of course, but there was no snow around it. In a perfect circle around this gigantic house there was fresh, green grass and warm sunshine.

While walking with my parents towards our own cabin I pulled my father aside and pointed the mansion out to him. I told him that we should go check it out and he agreed. We dropped our bags by the car and took off towards this place.

When we made it to the front doors they were huge, elaborately carved wood. They were very heavy, strong doors. Definitely befitting of the mansion style. I grabbed the knocker which I distinctly remember being bronze with a wicked, crazy face on it. After knocking and waiting there was no answer so I pushed open the door. Conveniently enough it hadn't been locked.

My father walked inside with me. Just inside the doors was a short, maybe five foot hallway section. There was a lush red carpet down the length of it and tall, thin pillars at perfect intervals on either side. The pillars formed like a gate that cut off the entryway from gigantic sets of bookcases that stretched the entire length of the hall on either side and were floor to ceiling.

When the short hallway ended there was a strange little stairway going straight, a doorway to the right that opened up into a HUGE library that shouldn't have been able to fit inside this mansion at all and a plain doorway to the right.

After looking around for a moment my father pulled me into the room to the left, with the average-looking door. Inside the room was decorated in brown and pink. There were dashes of gold. I immediately felt uneasy as soon as I walked in and wanted to leave. My father decided to sit down on the bed. I told him he shouldn't be touching anything but he bounced on it and laughed.

When I turned around to walk out I noticed a woman standing on the stairway and coming down. She was maybe in her early to mid forties and had very striking silver hair. It was up in a tight bun. She was wearing a gray business suit. It seemed like all the color had been washed out of her. All but some very sharp blue eyes behind a pair of sharply angled, black reading glasses.

The woman looked at me and greeted me. The dream was from so long ago that I can't remember if she had a name, if she gave one or if I just forgot it. I returned the greeting and she offered me a tour of her mansion. I accepted, of course, excited to look around. In the back of my mind(inside the dream) I knew my father was still in the room and I knew he wasn't coming out. I didn't know it, but he'd disappeared.

She took me on a trip around but I barely remember it. The last room we went to was the library. The entire mansion had three floors. The library took one entire section of the mansion with random balconies from each of the floors into it. (Like how hotels have courtyards in the middle with balconies and a glass roof? This library was like courtyard only the roof wasn't glass. It was a painted ceiling.)

I went absolutely nuts, ecstatic when she told me I could read any of the books inside the library and stay as long as I liked. At the end of each row were chairs and stands with lamps and in the middle of rows were small stools with elaborate and ornately stitched cushions on them. The floors were gold that looks like marble with black veins through it and the bookshelves were dark, rich wood that shined in the light.

I remember picking up random books with ancient-looking bindings of brown and black leather. They looked like occult books so, of course, I was interested. I took those back to a chair at the end of one of the isles and sat down on the chair and flipped open one of them, leaving the other few on the stand beside the lamp.

In the middle of looking over a set of very obviously witchcraft related pictures that looked hand-sketched I noticed I was hearing a whirring noise. It was something obviously powered by electricity. My curiosity got the best of me and I sat my book down and took off looking for it.

At the end of the very next isle I found it. It was a mini-refrigerator. That looked very out of place in a library, but I figured it was for refreshments. That made sense. I approached the refrigerator and opened it. When I did I found the severed head of a girl. She had long dark hair that was plastered in blood and stuck to the sides of the refrigerator because of the cold.

Now, you'd think someone finding this would freak out, scream and run away, right? Not I. Instead, I shrugged and closed the refrigerator. The girl's horrified eyes, glazed over in death and crystallized in the cold had only made me go 'Huh. How 'bout that.'

I walked back down the isle, heading back towards my seat in the next row and back to my books when I saw the owner of the mansion. She stopped me and asked me rhetorically if I'd found her daughter. I said yes. She congratulated me. Then she told me that when her daughter had gone missing the police did a full investigation and had never once opened that refrigerator. No one had ever found her daughter (whose name she told me but I forgot).

I knew without really knowing that the woman had killed her daughter in her bedroom. The bedroom that my father and I had first went into. And I knew that the girls' evil, angry spirit had killed and devoured my father. I also knew that if I went back into that bedroom there would be my father's severed limbs and entrails and blood decorating the paint.

The woman offered to give me the mansion as a congratulatory gift for discovering the truth. My jaw dropped and I accepted. Gladly, I accepted. Then, I returned to my seat in the library, the lady went off to do her thing upstairs. She was a ghost, after all. It wasn't like she could leave the mansion, or anything. lol

And I never bothered to go back into that bedroom or to ever leave the mansion. The dream ended in a blur with me just reading in the library for years upon years but never aging or feeling any desire to leave.

Ta da! The end.

If you actually read the entire thing let me know! I'll be truly impressed. lol I didn't honestly intend it to be an entire short story... But that was the detailed and comprehensive description of my dream. Which, in my opinion, was one of the best I've ever had. =P
