I was watching the movie and right after rotti tells his kids they disgust him they vanish. I had originally wondered why they didnt know he was dying when the doctor spoke in front of them

I didn't know they were in the same room. I only saw the Henchgirls and Rotti when the doc gave the diagnosis. o.o
They were most likely unaware, busy raping and pillaging all they came in contact with. -Stab'd.-

if you listen to the commentary...the doctor scene was originally supposed to be later...near the night surgeon number. blame the editor

I did not notice that they disappeared! I have to go watch the movie again now! -dashes off-
Yeah, the editors didn't do a very good job with Shilo's memories during the opera too. There are 2 scenes from the deleted stuff before the opera. Not to mention the subtitle-ers. They oh so epicly failed.

I actually think that the kids knew. mainly because of 'mark it up' Luigi and Pavi were arguing who was going to get geneco, duh, but at the end, when Rotti announces that he's terminally ill, they say 'dont tell me your dyin father' and it sounds kinda fake, like they knew....

I think they only said the "Please don't you're dyin', father" line to be more dramatic. Remember that they had an audience who didn't know Rotti was dying. It would make a bigger impression if they acted like it was a complete surprise to everyone.

That whole scene was a ball of confusing. After his children don Invisibility Cloaks, Rotti goes down an elevator and gets into a car to go...nowhere? Just five minutes later, he's back in his magical room, watching the graveyard scene. It never explains anything that Rotti could've done while gone.

They may have been in the same room, but were not entirely important to the fact that Rotti was dying because they were caught up in their own business, so, therefore, were not shown.

They fell into a plot hole and warped into the storage room where Mark It Up happened. As for the car thing? It hit a plot hole and Rotti panicked and used his rocket-powered ejector seat to get back to his office.

There are continuity errors, yeah, but it's not like they had the money to re-shoot the scenes. The movie wasn't working the way it had been scripted, so they had to fix the pacing by editing the movie differently than expected. It happens.
I mean, look at Pavi's face. He starts out the movie with the pretty-looking face, and then during the Sanitarium Square scene... the Genterns put that face on him. It doesn't make sense. Bellisario's Maxim and the MST3K Mantra apply. ;D

I don't mind the continuity errors (wow that word looks weird), actually I think it helps people get into REPO! a little more. There they are watching it when they notice something odd, then they're like "What's that about, yo?!" so they go online and figure it out. Then they find something else interesting. Then another interesting thing. Then another and another until they're hooked. Besides the little things make good shadow cast calls 3nodding

I think they do it because they're on stage, all acting in front of the crowd. The kids don't really care if he died because they're going to inherit the empire.
They're REALLY surprised when he says that they aren't going to get the empire and Shilo is.
