I think it is good for the full-time Cup guys. But like for a full- or part-time Nationwide driver who wants to get more experience for Nationwide by running the trucks, or get experience by running th Cup circuit it should not be applied. Same for the truck drivers.

Same for the truck drivers. 50 races is well beyond the average rookie program... only Clint, David Ru, David Re, and Kevin over the last decade have gone beyond that mark as rookies. Carl's 05 season doesn't count for he was not a rookie as with Joey.

That would probably never happen like that, but if it did they should be allowed to do it.

That would probably never happen like that, but if it did they should be allowed to do it. Actually many drivers do that..cause it still allows them to run for rookie of the year the next year...your only allowed 7 starts before becoming ineligible so one full season and 7 starts keeps you clean and mean xd granted though..it does cause some weird side effects like Sauter, Carl, and Brendan becoming rookie candidates after their debuts...
