I've got Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park With George and Into the Woods on video or DVD. Can't wait for Assassins, if it ever comes out.

I've been noticing that movie musicals are making a comeback. Here are some of the ones coming soon and just released (some you may know of, some maybe not):

The Phantom of the Opera (now on DVD!!!)--duh!
The Producers--later this year
Sweeney Todd--sometime in 2006
Rent--around Thanksgiving

And

rumors are going around that Wicked MAY become one in 2007 or 2008.

The Phantom of the Opera (now on DVD!!!)--duh!
The Producers--later this year
Sweeney Todd--sometime in 2006
Rent--around Thanksgiving

And

rumors are going around that Wicked MAY become one in 2007 or 2008.

Wicked would make a good disney cartoon movie. However, please talk about movie musicals in the correct thread. This thread is for talking about Sondheim. sweatdrop

I've always loved A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

I just saw that last weekend it's hilarious.

It's an absolutely hilarious play.

I just auditioned for that on Monday and had a callback last night. I hope I get in and get Hero, but the theatre is interesting. They had age ranges listed for their roles, such as Pseudolus 30-60 baritone and so forth. At my callback last night, they had me read and sing for Miles Gloriosis. That would be a fun part, too, but the age range was too high for me (25-40).

I've also never gotten the chance to play the romantic lead, which is another reason I want Hero.
