Woah, some of you actually supported the nicotene sprites??
One misconception people have is that Emo kids all smoke. I don't. And I really do not condone sprites of nicotene and alchohol on Gaia. Or anywhere else for that matter.
Drugs, alchohol and cigarettes cloud your judgement, smell like monkey butt, and make anyone holding it look stupid. I can't believe that I now know people who stood up for the return of that crap!
When I got on Gaia today, I saw a forum posting from someone who argued that old cigars should stay on Gaia, because of people who like to dress up as historical figures of the 1940's. Seriously?
Just because something might be historical does NOT mean it should be on Gaia! To me, an avatar dressed up as someone who advocates smoking, is like an avatar dressed as Adolf Hi... maybe I shouldn't finish typing that name. Because like nicotene he was EVIL. He too was a historical figure. Should his image be on Gaia too?
Anyway, I think Gaia should have upheld their stance on nicotene sprites. We don't need this crap!

I don't think you're seeing his point of view as well as many other cosplay fans. For many people who cosplay, they often need those sprites because alot of characters in media often use cigarettes. Like that guy from Naruto.
I really can't explain it well enough but all I'm saying is that the item very useful for some people.
By the way, just because cigarette and alchohol cloud your judgement, it doesn't mean that sprites do the same thing. The difference is, sprites are fake.
I don't think you should compare Adolf Hitler to a cigarette especially when I'm sure the only thing you know about him is that he killed alot of Jews. Although he was a sinister man you can't really compare a cigarette to him or him to a cigarette... e_e

Emo Chibiusa, Gaia isn't trying to promote smoking at all. I never smoked at all in my life, but I use my pipes and cigarettes on my avatar almost all the time. I'm smart enough to know that tobacco is a bad substance, so I won't ever use it in real life, so you shouldn't worry about it too much. Anyways, it's just sprites and pixels, not like anyone is getting lung cancer from having their avatar hold cigarettes right?
