It makes me happy.
Apparently, a local religious group protested New Moon. This is odd, because I live in a place where religious groups stay in their own world. So there was this theater that had a midnight showing, and they had three theaters packed to the rafters.
One of the protesters bought a ticket and pulled a fire alarm. a*****e they were, I still very much appreciate it.
I think I'll buy His Holiness's CD now.

I would like to see the actual document that Monsignor Perazzolo released. The article is rather short. sad

My involvement in Twilight has been no more than a viewing of half of the first movie. I can't speak much of the book except for a few excerpts I've found on the internet. But from a general knowledge of the plot I can see why the Vatican is cautioning its flock.

Of course, just because you read something bad doesn't mean that it's necessarily going to affect you for the worst, but it is possible that impressionable young people could be harmed and that intelligent older people insulted. And as the spiritual center of the largest Christian faith in the world, it is the Vatican's duty to caution and direct.

I want to go in search of the entire commentary of the Pontifical Council of Culture. Be back soon!

But they're hating it for the wrong reasons. They're saying the part about glorifying vampires is bad (it kind of is) but they're not mentioning anything about teen pregnancy or abusive relationships. And how about Harry Potter? Harry Potter has nothing really wrong with it, but they're bashing it because it encourages the use of magic.

Bottom line: I'm happy Christians don't approve of Twilight; I'm disappointed in their being so hard-minded.

Not all Christians are that way though. It's just that you only see the extremists in the media, unfortunatley. Most Christians are totally sane. *points to self*

That was...very generic. What exactly are they taking issue with? I don't understand. I kind of thought the church would have a problem with the suicide or maybe the teen pregnancy.

Really? Last time I checked that talentless pop-country star LIKED the series. 2 sources at the same time saying different things; maybe she's just doing it for the attention? Who knows.

She likes the books, but she doesn't like the attention that it's getting...
She said that she feels left out because of Twilight...

That's then only reason for her hating it..Now we can all go on hating her for being the whiny little B***h she is.
