Someone compared my vampire story idea to Twilight! =(
Just gonna say now, my story is, as far as I can tell, nothing like Twilight. The main character is a vampire, yes, but that's about it. Oh, and he does fall in love with a human, but that human's also a guy.
The vampire's a sex obsessed, avoid the sun, drink-from-the-source kind of guy. He's taking night classes to avoid sunlight. He's mentioned a couple times, 'yeah, I do sparkle in the sun. For about a second. Right before I burst into flames.' It's become fairly traditional to have the vampire be handsome, which helps him with his obsession with sex a bit. He drinks from the source, and his fangs(so as not to be noticeable in normal situations) are similar to an erection: When he's hungry, they get longer, so as to prepare for a meal. Other than that, they're usually just strangely sharp canines. They give him problems when he's very hungry. Oh, yeah, and I stepped away from the 'angsty teen emo' section. He appears as twenty-four. Oh, yeah, and since he's on a tight budget with the whole 'castle' thing, he sleeps illegally in the basement of a warehouse. Whenever someone finds him, he just rapes them, and drinks their blood, since he's generally thirsty. He's a bit brutal.
The human is fail at everything: He's got a dysfunctional family(EVERYONE is disabled except for his aunt), he's blind, he's floundering with his grades, he has no musical talent, he's clumsy, he fails at sports, he's not particularly attractive, he's in his last year of collage and still single and a virgin, he's gay, and his luck is worse than that of anyone else ever in all of time. The thing is, though, he's really, really sweet, which is what draws the vampire to him. He doesn't smell like anything special, he's not very handsome, not particularly smart...no. He's just very sweet, and very happy.
The whole story is, basically, the vampire wondering if he should change this kid he's in love with, or if he should leave the kid alone again. Note that Rolan(the human) appears not to know what the vampire(he hasn't gotten a name yet...give me a bit...>.>) is. I'm not sure if he actually knows. The story isn't very well developed at this point.
But anyway, it's not like Twilight!
...
Is it?

Nah, yours has much more depth, though the premise itself could be improved some. What possible motive would your bloodsucker Mcsexypants have to mess around with the blind dude? Is it some kind of sadistic, primal sexual desire(ew)? Curiosity? Also, focus heavily on character development rather than plot at first. A plot with shallow, stereotypical, what-the-media-spoonfeeds-us type characters aint as fun to read, so good job so far with the characters.

I'm completely against vampireXhuman romance so idk (I'm also not particularly fond of guyXguy relationships, but I have my opinions.)
The human guy sounds like he's an Anti-Sue, which is just as bad honestly.
But it doesn't sound like Twilight. Maybe they're just trying to troll you.

Well, it's nothing like Twilight, that's for sure. I too am not that fond of guyxguy relationship stories, but I wouldn't call it Gay Twilight because of that reason.

Well, I suppose I'll break the trend. I'm fine with guyXguy realtionsips or whatever... But I am a little with Crystal with the whole Anti-Sue thing... I wouldn't say it's like Twilight, no, but it could use a few touch-ups here and there...Well, at least for my style it does...

*Beam* As long as it's not quite Twilight, that's good enough for me. Just sayin', this is still in Alpha stage, so most of the characters (and most of the story) aren't fully developed.
And yeah...I need to work a bit on the Anti-sue thing. The two of them are still fairly undeveloped. But anyway...
@koolkitty752:Well, basically, Roland's mom dies, or something, and the family has to pay for a funeral. Unfortunately, they're rather poor, and someone has to bite the bullet and leave. It can't be his father, and it sure as hell can't be his little sister, so Roland is, more or less, forced to leave, which is not the greatest idea ever(Yeah! Let's just kick our financially challenged, blind, untalented son out of the house! Greatest idea ever!), but it's better than making him take care of his autistic little sister, which would happen if his father left. So Roland is left to kind of wander by himself until he can find his house, and hopefully I'll have more detail on that later. Maybe he's juggled by family friends or something. But anywho, he somehow finds himself sitting on a corner by the side of the road, the vampire comes up, and takes him home. But yeah...it's mainly curiosity. Sort of like, 'Wow, what if I really like this guy?' sort of thing. Except it's him, so more rage-like.
@Demoness Crystallia:Yeah, I'm working with the anti-sue thing at this very moment. Well, sort of. At this very moment, I'm typing. But you know what I mean.
@The Unholy Shadow:OK, that's good to know.
@isamiwolf:Yay! Thank you! I feel so loved now! Maybe I'll actually get drawn into writing it now. It's nice to see someone appreciate my work(Not that the rest of you guys were, but I'm just sayin'). I might ask you to Beta-read for me.
@Razzz25:Sweet! Another guyXguy fan! And...yeah, I'm aware of the whole, 'it needs to be polished! Polished 'till it shines!' thing, so everything is all good.

Okay, you know what? There's nothing wrong with gay relationships and I think you should go with it because it's an original concept. Gay vampires rock. (Personally, I think gay guys are awesome. Yes, I'm straight. No, I don't personally know any gays.)

@ Jerba: Yay! Thank you. Since, y'know, vampires are actually dangerous, and supposedly, they love their sex. That's why they're so pretty. Or...or something. And yeah, gay guys are awesome. I know two or three in person, but mostly just lezzies. Which is fine. They're pretty cool too. ^^

I always assumed they were attractive to draw humans who were expecting sex in and then they'd eat them. It's like those snakes who have tails that imitate worms, y'know.

Really? I thought they were just rather loose with their sex lives.
