"I've heard that line before!" Cairndeer yelled, but came out anyhow, with his hands up.
"Alright, I'm out."
((Bah. Have to go for now, family wants me to spend time with them. Pff.
Continue later, yes?))

((Sure thing. Have fun chillin' with the family.)) "I apologize for our threatening manner. We are in a bit of a hurry you see. I want to know if you have seen somebody that we're looking for."

James put his arms down, feeling a little foolish.
"I might have. There aren't many people around here though, if you hadn't noticed..."

"That's exactly why I have decided to land here. I'm trying to avoid the eh..Gaian authorities so to speak."
The Imperator looked around as if he felt someone was watching. "Anyways, I'm searching for a centurion of the Roman Legions. She's a faun with brown hair and has a red stripe tattoo across her face."

"Oh." The doctor said simply. "She's... close by."
Stifling a bit of a smile, he eyed the stones on the ground. Perhaps he would mess a bit with this man... James always did enjoy a good joke.

Remus breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried that he hadn't reached the planet in time.
"Oh...so where is she, then? It's imperative that I find her and whoever it is she came for as soon as possible."

"Well..." The elf pointed to the two stones by the freshly dug dirt, still holding his shovel. "I'm sorry, sir."
They appeared to be some sort of grave markers. If one looked closely, the first bore Kaok's name. Strangely enough, the other bore his. It still gave James the shivers looking at it.

Remus looked down at the the two grave markers. He didn't believe what he was seeing.
"No...there must be some mistake here...she can't possibly..." the Imperator stammered.

"Apparently, she came back to find her best friend, and her old captain Drennis found her, there was a standoff and everything. They say she took out ten Gaian soldiers before he stabbed her in the back - and her friend Cairndeer wouldn't stand for it, he beat the Captain senseless before they managed to get him, too."
He cleared his throat. "Or so the story goes. I'm so sorry, friend-."
"Pan above, James, I told you to signal me if they were friendly!" Seconds later, a not-so-dead Centurion emerged from the bushes. "That's absolutely cruel of you, you pointy eared son of a b***h."
"Racist slurs, Jayim? Really? Is that what you've come to?"

The Imperator's face went pale and his eye twitched. Remus calmly walked over to the elf and promptly slugged him hard across the face. He quickly composed himself and smiled.
"That was hilarious! You sure got me! My sides are splitting! Hahahaaa!" he said rather hysterically.
The Imperator looked at the confused legionaries standing behind him. "Laugh dammit! It's funny, right?" he commanded them. The legionaries looked at one another and let out some rather weak and pathetic laughter.

"Christ of Nazareth in a gravy boat!" Cairndeer exclaimed after a brief second of shock. Kaok just stared at him shaking her head.
"I should've done that a long time ago." She muttered.
"Oh yes, that's the thanks I get for saving your life every other goddamn day!" The elf backed away from Remus, eying him with a look of terror on his face. He continued to speak however.
"I helped her fake her own death, you know. Now the Gaian government isn't going to bother her. And back during that Cult War, yeah? Girl gets herself beaten half to death. What brilliant doctor saves her life?"
Kaok ignored him. "I'm sorry if I worried you, Remus, I didn't think I would be gone that long. I had to come see this lump because he has this crazy idea-."
"I wanna be a Roman citizen."
"Yeah, that crazy idea."

Remus nodded and smiled at Kaok. "It's perfectly fine. Just let me know before you go running off to other star systems. The owner of that Greek restaurant also seemed to be worried about you."
The Imperator turned to Dr. Cairndeer. "So, you want to be a Roman citizen, do you? That means swearing your loyalty to Rome...and once you do that, there is no backing out, Doctor."
Remus nudged the doctor's false headstone with his foot. "Though I guess it doesn't matter. Your dead on this planet."

"Of course, Remus." The Faun nodded, hoping Cyril didn't worry too much.
Cairndeer, still rubbing his face a little where he was hit, nodded solemnly.
"Allegiance to Rome? No problem. I'm sure I already have. I was baptized Catholic and everything-."
"Not 'Pope' Rome. 'Space' Rome."
"Ah, well. That's still no problem. He's right, I am dead here, after all." He ignored the fact that it was his own fault that he was. "I'll swear my allegiance to your empire."

"Wonderful. I hope you have a plastic bag handy, Doctor. If you haven't been to space before, then you can expect to be puking your brains out for a good hour or two. It often happens to those who are new to the infinite black void." Remus said and motioned for them to board the dropship.
"Now, let us be off before a Gaian astronomer or satellite spots my ship in orbit and causes a mass panic."
((Blagh. I hafta go. G'night!))

((Seeya.))
"Mass panic... is bad." The doctor muttered under his breath.
It was the last thing he would utter for several hours, as true to Remus' word he spent most of the trip vomiting. Kaok spent it trying to keep him from throwing himself out of the airlock.
