Roxi, who was seemingly oblivious to Suzu's awkwardness, loaded the groceries into the car, humming a scrap of a song under her breath. It didn't occur to her that Suzu might be feeling out-of-place; he'd purchased her as a slave, hadn't he? And slaves were supposed to do all work set before them unless told otherwise. Once the groceries were all packed neatly away into the car, Roxi wheeled the cart away. When she got back to the car, she blinked in slight surprise. "Are you driving then?" She asked him, sitting down carefully in the passengers seat. "I still can...if you want." For the first time, Roxi was aware of Suzu's uncomfortable manner, and to her annoyance, it began to affect her. She trailed off, and sat back in the seat, her cheeks slightly pink, though her eyes were as cold as green chips of ice.

Suzu tapped his fingers on the steering wheel absently while he waited for Roxi, reminding himself that having her do all the work involved in grocery shopping wasn't a bad thing. It wasn't like he'd had her doing some backbreaking work, and she was supposed to be used to doing such menial tasks. Caught up in his thoughts, the teen jumped slightly when Roxi opened the other door, but he calmed himself as quickly as possible. "Oh, uh... No... No, I'm alright this time." Taking a deep, calming breath, Suzu got the keys out of his pocket and started the car. "We're not related," he added casually as he pulled out of the parking spot. "We just pretend to be, because people like that. We came out as musicians about the same time, and when the media saw how much we looked alike, they decided to make us twins. And now everyone loves us more than ever, because we're just... 'adorable' together." He shrugged. "She has to dye her hair to make it the same shade as mine, but it gets us a lot of publicity." As they continued down the road, Suzu glanced at Roxi out of the corner of his eye. "Any other specific questions you have for me? If it doesn't seem too nosy, I'll answer it." The musician doubted that the slave could think up any question he hadn't been asked by dozens of reporters before, so he wasn't worried about telling her a little about himself. She'd been right after all; he'd heard plenty about her past, but she knew nothing about him.

"No, it's fine." Roxi said softly as she stared out the window, her red hair making a fine curtain between Suzu and herself. "That's all I wanted to know, thank you." It seemed to her that there was this constant push and pull between the two of them. First it was awkward between the two of them, but as Roxi learned to check her temper, and not always speak what was on her mind, slowly the awkwardness had lessened. If they hadn't been friends, if they hadn't even been equals, in the very least they had been two people holding a polite conversation. But then, it seemed, Suzu would always pull away, and the awkwardness would begin again. Roxi knew that it wasn't fair for her to judge him like this, but at the same time, she was hurt and confused. A little consistency would have been nice. Unknowningly, Roxi scowled. But no, it was probably just her fault. Per usual. If only she was a better slave; then maybe things like this wouldn't keep happening. But three years of slavery, and Roxi still couldn't wasn't the submissive slave that she probably should have been. "But...I really want this to work. And he is being nice. He told me what the magazine said, and he bought it for me. It's not Suzu, it's me. I'm too bitter about what happened in the past, and I take it out on everyone. I always apologize, and tell myself that I won't do it again. But I always do. This time, I want the promise to be real. I really want to change." Roxi sighed, and let it out slowly. "Thank you for telling me that." She repeated in a normal tone. "You didn't have to tell me anything about yourself. I just thought you would want to know about my past, so that you could understand my mood swings and such. You could have kept everything about yourself a secret, and it would have been fine." Roxi turned, and gave Suzu an honest smile. "So, thank you!"
