Lol, Like I really need to say...look at the name.

Anyway, CLOUD hands down. Sure Zack was soldier and made his way up there and Cloud was originally just one of the guys in blue with a gun and stupid tri mask thing. But once he lost his mind and took on Zacks life, as he said. "You are my living legacy." He became what he thought was himself but what really was Zack. Every memory he had of watching Zack, he replaced himself. Sure that means in the game when it had flash back of him, it was actually Zack. But in the end It was plane old Cloud which was only a regular grunt, took Zacks humungo sword and took on Sephiroth, getting stabbed only to throw him into the make. Which in the in the game it happened different in the anime. But point being he did actually beat him 3 times in my eyes. And yes Zack did protect him, but thats because he just got traumatized and well blacked out or something. But after Cloud woke up and spoke to zack before he died, Cloud agreed to be his living legacy. And from that point became Zack. Why I think he is better is because Cloud went from this basically powerless grunt to a powerful badass, all because of a mental breakdown YAY!!! So he had no real training or nothing. He gained it all, his fighting ability and power just from that. And he rose farther and became stronger, to kick Sephiroths but two more times XD it opened up his hidden potential. And with out him...Sephiroth would of taken over the world cus face it...Zack would never be able to beat him.

Now, yes He went through a sadness faze, but wouldn't you two if you nearly killed the person you loved with your own hands, only to break away and be like wew, then a black cloaked guy coming from the sky only to stab her and kill her....figuring out your phoenix downs don't work anymore, nor does your revive or life spells. le gasp. Then finding out information about what really happened in your past coming to the conclusion that everything you remember is a lie only to find out your best friend was who you were portraying, realizing you were just the third perspective and that he died later saving you.... He's lost alot, one time being because he had a mental breakdown, then almost lost his mind and killed his friend. All this while he was somewhat helpless to do anything. At the beginning of the game he was cocky, heartless and only cared about what he wanted to do, but in the middle when Aerith died and later when his memories were coming back to truth is when he started to become sad. Which as one person said is understandable...If it was me I'd prolly shoot myself. So him thinking he really can't help anyone is because of his lack of self confedence, which doesn't alot of people int his world suffer from?

Anyway..sorry bout my rant.....i think...i'ma watch advent children now...

Even though Zack was optimistic and was the a member of SOLDIER while Cloud was not, it is true that Cloud DID beat Sephiroth twice, and the first time he DID catch sephiroth off guard O__o I have to give Cloud points for sneakiness XD Sorry, Clouds more badass to me. Although I have to agree Zacks personality was better out of the two. xd

I've seen support for both, sorry it's been a long while. This is good. I think Zach is a much more powerful character physically and emotionally mostly because he was able to take anything that came at him with an optimistic twist. I can see why people wouldn't be on board with that because tragic characters appeal to us for some reason. Cloud was just too depressing I felt, I though the illusions he chased in his head overpowered him too much. He had reason for sadness, but to the point of where he was, was just pathetic. Pathetic characters are not good, people may disagree and that is their right and choice to do so. Not too mention, like what was said earlier, he was stronger than Cloud before he even got to 1st Class, Cloud didn't even make it into 3rd. We'll never know why he never made it, he just didn't, either he sucked or he just was on an off-day, but he should have been promoted at that time if he was good enough just on a bad day. I guess you can say I connected to Zach a little bit more, he wasn't dumb optimistic because he does go through his sad moments, but he pushed through until he died for a weaker character.

We'll let you talk when you've been shoved in a test tubed, experimented on, and been part of an attempt to make a new Sephiroth. You need to remember that what Cloud went through in that basement was far worse than what Zack went through, and Zack was much stronger, and better trained than Cloud when this happened.
