Looking at the various plants, after some careful thinking, "Hmm, perhaps this one...", as poked it lightly with the tip of his wand.

"Maybe not...", before moving on to a clearly different one, using the wand edge to move some of the leaves about to get a better look, "Could this be one?..."

James entered the Herbology classroom, the smell of dirt filling his nostrils. He sat down and started to read his assigned Herbology text. He normally wouldn't be reading his Herbology book, but the teacher was watching and he couldn't goof off in class like he wanted. Plus, he was trying to be mature for Lily. This time around, she was talking to him...and more. Maybe because they had been together in the past. (Boy time travel was confusing, he was both a teacher and a student and his body thirty seven, while his head was...well he didn't even know how old he was anymore.

James read about half of his text and figured it would probably be okay for him to try to identify one of the plants now.

He got up and went over to the plants. He saw one that looked like the drawing in the book and called his teacher over to ask if he had correctly identified the plant.
