Every band practice, my band director makes all the instruments take off their bodies, so we're left with the mouthpieces/head joints.
Reason being : Tone Warm ups
The clarinets sound like a whole bunch of dying ducks when they're doing it Dx. Even my friend who's in that section agrees that there shouldn't be anymore mouthpieces/head joint warm ups. stare
Sorry Clarinets!

Clarinets. There's too damn many of them and you STILL can't hear them. Plus I've never really liked the sounds of them. PLUS there's a Flute vs. Clarinet feud in our band..kinda as a joke. ;D
GO FLUTES! ^.^ <3

Bassoonist Piccolo's for sure. French horns played by bad players aren't good either.[/quote I agree with you all the way. except im gonna go one step further(no clue how to spell that word) and say that all flute like insturments are very annoying as they are high pitched and can be like nails on a chalkboard into a megaphone, sorry to those of you that play said instruments

trumpets if they arent played right and most important if they arent placed right in a song it can turn a masterpiece into a total disaster

bari sax.. idk there's just something about it that sounds off when played with the other low reeds
and also french horn when played by someone who doesn't know how
speaking of that, we were tuning today in band class, and the french horn was terribly off. the director told her to adjust and get in tune and she said, "but.. i don't know how to tune!" gonk

piccolo and oboe. I play piccolo myself and whenever i am forced to play it (i have very sensitive ears as well cuz i'm blind out of my right eye) i feel like i'm going to die from my ears bleeding so bad haha. especially on the freakin high notes!! all 3 of our oboe players have had problems with their oboe and it sounds like a dying baby or something. ugh can't stand the sound of the oboe

i would have to say the one instrument i can't stand must be the tuba because everytime i hear the play it just is a rumble. But no offense to the people who play the tuba. It is a good instument but i just don't like the sound it makes. i am sure there are people as well that can't stand the piano in which i love to play
