The Boo bash! 09!

The Hedge maze

The hedge maze is a strange maze that surfaces from the swimming pool mages practice in. No one knows how it got there... But perhaps having the pool closed down 3 weeks before Halloween has something to do with it. BUT LETS NOT GET INTO DETAILS.

The maze itself is BIIIIIG. Like 700 people fitting big. No one knows exactly whats at the center of it but rumor has it that they once saw a giant phoenix flare up from the center of it. the walls of the maze are only about six feet tall. So tall people can barely see over it.

The hedge maze contains a headless seagull by the name of pinku. regardless of his headless nature he still squawks out his friends name he hopelessly lost in the maze. His friend goes by the name ..."ROLLLLLLLLLLANNNNNNNNNNND". His cries are loud and shrill as it fills the maze. If one person looks hard enough they can indeed find this seagulls friend.

But don't count in it.

His friend is a talking alcoholic cockroach by the name of Rolland. He is wise cracking and has the voice of a chain smoker.

Despite all the oddness of it, the hedge maze is a nice place for you and your date to spend some time.

Or for single men or women to hide in emoness for the lack of dates : (.

((C'MON PEOPLE POST IN HERE GAWD))

Tomoro inched around in the darkness for this so-called trap door, and when she saw a sliver of light she kicked it with her ladybug heel. The door went flying, and she calmly stepped up the stairs and out into what looked like a hedge maze. She turned and saw Kurai walking away from her; she would too if someone was acting like she was. Probably thinks I'm a freak... she said, smirking to herself.

At least she was out in the open now where she could smell the fresh air, see nature around her, and look up at the moon shining extremely brightly. Not expecting Kurai to chase after her anymore (he had probably gone off to see someone else, she figured), Tomoro entered the hedge maze. These mazes were so boring if you had the power to manipulate earth. Even if you didn't move the plants around to find the exit, the leaves on each branch whispered the correct way through the labyrinth so it wasn't much fun anyway.

After taking a few deep breaths and calming down a bit, Tomoro continued through the maze, looking for a bench of some sort. When it seemed like she was a bit lost, she closed her eyes and focused on the words of the leaves. Gggoooo uuuuuuppppp annnnndddd llllefffffttttt, ttaaaaakkkeee a rigggghhhttt annnnndddd itttt issss theeerrreee she heard one plant say, its branches stirring. Tomoro bowed to the branch, which would have looked extremely strange if anyone saw her, and within moments she sat on a long, plain metal bench.

She put her head in her hands. What had gotten into me back there? I barely remember what happened myself! It was like something took over me... Her eye widened a bit. She thought she had eliminated the source of her evil long ago, but it appeared that remnants of it were still lingering in her body. She'd probably have to go see a priest or a shrink or something. Tomoro let out a soft groan, and then proceeded to stare up in the moon, lost in thought.

What a strange drink this girl sold me... Bubble tea? These aren't even bubbles Kurai thought to himself as he trotted back towards the hedge maze. I hope she likes it, the nice girl at the drink stand did say it was a popular drink, but... I can't understand it. Kurai then eyed the brown drink more closely and spotted the black tapioca at the bottom of the drink.

ITS NOT BUBBLES! its more like... STONES! Kurai then closed his eyes and nodded his head as if agreeing to himself. At most they should of called it STONE tea! Kurai opened his eyes and then noticed he came back the entrance of the hedge maze. Tomoro, what is this side of you? And why do i want to see more of it? Kurai thought to himself before he entered the hedge maze.

What exactly make people like that? How can I help you? Kurai thought some more and then reached into his collar of his halloween suit and pulled out the pendant from Mother Aili. He gripped the blue jewel of it and closed his eyes. Mother Aili, please guide me. I want to be able to help all of my friends... Kurai then let his pendant hang out of the collar of his shirt and began walking towards the hedge maze.

....

Before Kurai knew it he was somewhere surronded by 3 walls of large shrubbery.

".... TOMORO WHERE ARE YOU D: " Kurai called out hopelessly lost.

He... came back? Ugh... she thought, snapping out of her daydreaming. "Why would he even bother to come back...it's ridiculous..." she mumbled. With a wiff of her hand, she opened up a path for Kurai to walk straight through. As it turned out, he wasn't that far from her at all; all he had to do was walk around the corner and continue straight, and she would be in a dead end. As he approached her she noticed a strange drink in his hand. What on earth is that... are there STONES at the bottom of that drink? as he handed it to her she bowed her head, giving a silent thank you, and began to look at the drink curiously. What sort of concoction is this? Why does it smell so sweet when there are hard things at the bottom? Tomoro looked at Kurai and gave him a bit of a fake smile, wondering what the hell it was that he just gave her. She hesitantly put up the drink to her lips and sucked on the straw. As she drank her face lit up little by little; it was milk tea, and it was very sweet. And these weren't stones at the bottom, they were little squishy ball things that tasted really good!

After she drank a bit she handed it to Kurai, staring at him to drink it. "They...aren't hard rocks or anything... if you enjoy sweet drinks, I recommend you try this... if not I understand..." she said, her eye looking the other direction. Why would he want to try something tainted by me?

"But...thank you... I guess..."

"Oh!" Kurai cried out in a slight shock as he saw the hedge maze part and Tomoro was just to his right. Seeing Tomoro has parted the hedge maze Kurai thought it would be impolite to not walk towards her. Handing her the drink and watching a rather quite bow to him he held his hands together rather nervously.

What if she doesnt like it... will she hate me for it? Kurai began to doubt his decision as to bringing the drink over to her. What if shes allergic to those stones! Kurai began to panic and pictured a Tomoro with swelled up lips and began bleeding from the ears.

Before Kurai's imagination could get any wilder, Tomoro's voice brought him back.

"eh? They are good?" Kurai then took the drink without even thinking about the fact that Tomoro's lips have been on them, he was more interested in the fact if the drink was drinkable or not. He then sipped on it himself, the squishy ball took him by suprise and he nearly choked on the bubble tea.

"it.. it is quite... quite sweet... but no thank you..." Kurai said coughing a bit from the balls. He handed over her the drink, and then pounded at his chest.

..........

Kurai was now sitting at the bench next to where Tomoro sat. Lazily he began to look up at the night sky. "Sorry the haunted house probably didn't come out as enjoyable as you wanted it to be.." Kurai let a rather embarresed grin to Tomoro. "I guess the teachers overdid the decorations a bit this year or something.." Kurai then let out a long sigh.

He then knelt forward on the bench, his pendant dangled out in the air. "oh forgot..." Kurai muttered to himself and began to stuff the pendant back into his shirt.

".... Tomoro... do you have someone you look up to?" Kurai wondered.

Tomoro couldn't help but let out a small laugh, and then covered her mouth quickly. "I...I'm sorry, but that was so funny... you knew they were at the bottom!" She gave him a genuine small smile, and then relaxed a bit by letting out a sigh. Why can't all my days be like this at the end, all peaceful...

"A-ah! It's..okay... I suppose I got so worked up over the decorations that I just grew so scared, and reacted..out of fear or something," she said, looking down at the dirt. To be honest, she wasn't really sure why she had acted the way she did. Something deep insider her had just welled up and exploded in moments. She turned to Kurai as he asked her a question.

"Someone...I look up to? Well..." she said, once again looking down. "I...I do, even though she is not here on this planet today," she said with a sad smile. "My grandmother was very close to me when I was a younger child. She...always listened to my stories of fantasy and wishes. She was also an earth manipulator, the only one in my lineage that I knew. My grandma taught me... a lot of things about myself and my powers, and loved me for who I was," Tomoro concluded, smiling at the thought of her grandmother and their days in the forest. Tomoro was sure not to tell Kurai that she in fact accidentally killed her grandma because of her damned father.

"I see... you have a pendant? I also have such a memento," Tomoro stated. "It is back in my dorm room at the moment, but it is a small ring that she gave me when I was very young. It does not fit my finger anymore... but it is small, silver, and has a young dove flying with clove in its mouth. She said that it would always watch over me and keep me safe in her place," she said, directly looking at him with her eye.

"B-but enough about me!" She said suddenly, realizing she had talked more than usual. "D-do you... have someone precious to you like I do?"

Seeing Tomoro's expression change to something lighter relaxed Kurai a lot more. It was as if seeing the side that he saw when he first met Tomoro. It relaxed him a lot better. It was the side that made him become close friends with Tomoro in the first place, and it made him happy.

A grandmother and earth manipulation... I wonder what would Rene think of this.. Kurai thought to himself remembering that his sister also was able to manipulate the earth. I wonder if this means she's from the same lineage...

Kurai slightly giggled at the description of the ring. It just seemed like such a gurly thing for her to have. But at the same time he respected such a memento and it's value to Tomoro. "it sounds quite pretty, I sure would like to meet your grandma!" Kurai stated throwing his fist forward. Maybe if i meet her grandma I would learn some information on Rene too... Kurai not wanting to tell her about Rene, he didn't want her to know Rene kinda sorta died. ((I have no idea what happened to Rene now lol))

Kurai's eyes almost lit up immediately as Tomoro asked him of the ones he looked up to.

"Mother Aili!" Kurai cried out and then punched another fist forward. He then reached in his costume again to pull out the pendant he wore around his neck. It was a strange pendant with a beautiful blue orb at the end with two small angelic wings coming out from it. Below the blue gem a strange golden rod made wavy shape about 3 inch long.

"Mother Aili taught me to believe in the lord and the Gods that rule our planet." Kurai then shifted his gaze over to Tomoro. "She also taught me how to never give up on learning the elemental fusion arts" He then seemingly lost his words "Well, without her influence, i would have never have learned how to use my Fire blade."

"....."

"YEAH!" Kurai cried out and then stood up and threw a fist into the air.

"She--She's really cool though. She helped me when I was like. Possessed or something..."

"you should meet her!" Kurai felt really awkward. He was never that good with talking with girls and keeping a good conversation

Tomoro listened carefully as Kurai spouted out his excitement so suddenly. It was great that he had such a passion for all of this... and Mother Aili, eh? She seemed like a very nice person. Perhaps Tomoro could find some information on the healing arts from her, if she ever had the chance. His pendant was so pretty, but it also had a small ominous feel to it; if it was ever broken, it seemed like a bad omen would come from it.

"I don't believe in any Gods ruling our planet. If they did truly rule, then they would have the world live in harmony and I would not meet so many tainted people. Then again, perhaps there is a God somewhere, since there are demons running rampant throughout the world...however, I apologize for my views since you are a priest, and I wholeheartedly respect your own motives and views," Tomoro said, nodding slightly to herself. She didn't want to come off as a huge non-believer; it was just that under her circumstances, she had never seen a reason to believe in a higher power that didn't even take care of her.

Tomoro now shifted the conversation to when Kurai spoke up about being possessed. She had heard of it before, but never really questioned the matter.

"You've... been possessed before, right? I do not mean to pry, but by what? And...this Mother Aili saved you?" It was interesting to Tomoro because it had seemed like she was possessed before by something, but she wasn't quite sure. Perhaps with an explanation by a man who knew what it was like, she could gain an awareness of how it truly felt and if she had gone through the same thing, or if it was her mind playing tricks once again.

"A-again... you don't have to answer if you don't want to..." she said, her voice growing quiet once again. I've probably gone too far in talking to him..

Kurai could feel Tomoro's stare at the pendant. Embarrassed he sat back down gripping on the pendant.

"The Spirits of our planet do not rule our life. They balance it. Everything is not to work in harmony but rather co-exist with each other." Kurai started to rant off in reply to Tomoro's statement. "I truly believe that the spirits of this world as Mother Aili stated have made it so we must use their power in order to help bring balance in our world." Kurai clenched his fist and a slight flare come from between his fingertips. it quickly evaporated into the air.

Kurai then heard of Tomoro mention about the possession.

"Sorry, but... I don't remember a thing that happened when i was possessed. But I know it felt like, I was a completely different person or something." Kurai tried to remember his events. "It was like i was taken over by another me somewhere underneath. Like... A whole another... me.." Kurai had trouble expressing his experience.

"... Ever felt like... there's another you somewhere out there? that was probably. fighting for the same body?" Kurai began to ask as he looked up at the night sky. It was a rather interesting question but he felt no hesitation to ask Tomoro it. It was in same way, his own way of answering her question.

Tomoro looked at him, her face quizzical. "I'm sorry, but I have no experience of that... not really fighting for my own body. But..." she looked down, remembering what had just happened and the things she had done in her past. "I can remember losing control of myself, and somewhat blanking out. It wasn't like another person, but another part of me that had taken over- a part I didn't know existed within myself. But I wasn't fighting, I just gave up," she said, not sure if he understood what she meant.

Tomoro was completely aware during the incident with the otaku man just before, but she couldn't stop it. "I felt like... the real me was pushed back into myself and then out came this part I didn't know, a part that was violent and savage. I was wondering if that's considered possession... but I suppose not," she said, looking at the ground. This guy had the real deal, but I must look like a fake in front of him... ranting about there being two parts of me inside me and all... does that even make sense...?

"I'm sure... that this doesn't really make sense to you right now... you would probably understand more if you knew about my past, but right now I'm not really...comfortable with talking about it. Basically... I think there's a part of me that triggers in self-defense and goes berserk if I get angry or scared..." Tomoro frowned, thinking about it. "I'd try to see someone about this, but they'd probably think that I was crazy... so forget it," she sighed, moving her foot around in the dirt.

"I guess... we just all have our own problems to deal with..."

"So you are aware of ... the other you..." Kurai stated as he listened to Tomoro's story. He was all too familiar of his fellow students loosing control over themselves and becoming a killing machine. It seemed to be somewhat a trend. A dangerous and common trend.

"Your more fortunate in some sense Tomoro... You are able to see the destruction you done and the harm you caused and have the opportunity to make up the damage. Myself... i never knew who I hurt and what i have done.. it's kind of scary." Kurai then smiled at Tomoro.

"Tomoro... Trust me, even if it didn't make sense to me, I can see you consider what you are now your real self, and you should live for your real self. Whatever happened in the past, created you. And Tomoro, I think what has been created is a very interesting and caring friend." Kurai smiled and tried to reassure Tomoro that he didn't think she was crazy at all. He thought she was a good friend.

"We have our own problems to deal with indeed Tomoro, but it sure makes it easier if people help no?"

PostPosted: Thu Nov 05, 2009 1:25 pm

Tomoro smiled slightly as she heard Kurai's kind words. "Thank...you..."

She thought about Kurai's question for a bit. "I suppose you are right... it depends on the situation at hand, though...because sometimes it is best to be left alone to sort out thoughts. At least, that's what I usually expect..."

Tomoro sighed and looked up at the sky. It was getting a bit chilly and she was feeling the cold air tingle her shoulder. Kurai wouldn't be able to feel it because he was in some mangled furry suit. "I...I'm a bit cold... is it okay if we head somewhere else?" she asked him.

Suddenly she heard shouts in the distance, shouts that did not sound like they came from students. Feeling the branches stir around her, she knew that something was wrong. "We need to leave," she said, standing up. People are coming and I cannot tell who they are... what do they want? As they grew closer, Tomoro began to hear the ruffling of thick fabric and clanging armor.

"Let's go!" she said quietly, jumping up and grabbing Kurai's hand. "I... don't know what they want with us or other people, but in situations like this it is best to run when we are outnumbered."
