Zaxiyn lizzardoffire16 Zaxiyn All they need to do is invent the lighter, and all firemaking problems will be solved! They have Magic. Simply invent a spell that when cast will set something ablaze! Man 1-up'd, oddly my character never figured that fire strike would set logs on fire just yet. Fire Strike Fire Bolt Fire Blast Fire Wave

Firemaking is useless, it burns all your useful logs. D: As is cooking pretty much, cooking is really only good if you can't buy food and need it for quests.

But if everybody just bought food and nobody trained cooking, there would be no cooked food soon enough, wouldn't there?
And I totally wanna see someone use Fire Wave on some logs...

Higher cooking = less burnt fish, but fire-making we can light-walk!

Firemaking isn't a useless skill. If you find yourself in a situation wothout food, and there is no easy escape route, then you would need to make your own food. Yes, I know about teleporting, but lets say you're in THAT bad of a situation.
You could cut a tree around you, then make quick food to survive. That's the only use I see for firemaking right now.
