Ellandra nodded a bit. "Yes. . .. . I know a little bit about that feeling, considering how my life was before I came here," she said, smiling tightly as uncomfortable memories resurfaced, only to be pushed away.
Rhian blinked a little and smiled at Kelly, unable to keep from bobbing her antennae in greeting. "I do, kin'a........ huh?" she echoed, and yawned. "IS Lauss-teacher still'ere?"

"Zia got him t' gae upstairs fae a nap," Faolan told her. "Why doncha gae up there an' join him. Keep th' door open an' th' clothes on, okay?" He nudged at her and Kendra to move so he could get up.
Kelly sat up, rubbing at his face a bit, then looked at Kendra. "Why're you here?"
"I was kidnapped by Lauss," the girl answered, shrugging.
Zia walked over to Elle and gave her a hug, mindful of the infant in her arms. "Fao has a way of making things better, even if he stupidly stumbles into them, eh?"

Rhian nodded, trying to get to her feet and stumbling around as she fought with all her remaining energy to get to Zia's room, where she felt Lauss being rather happy - he'd probably found a book. Peeking into the room after what seemed like a ridiculously long journey there, she offered a weak wave and a "Hi, Lauss-teacher," before crawling over onto the bed and snuggling up to him. "F'lan said I could nap with you as long 's th'door'sop'n an' we have cloths'on..."
Ellandra returned the hug a bit and nodded. "Yes, he does. . . . though I wish he'd found out about Kelly sooner.. I suspected when I first saw him, but it wasn't really my business..." She expression turned tearful as she broke the hug and looked at Ziazan. "I suppose. . . I'm just glad he didn't lose all of his babies before the twins. . ."

Lauss' eyes widened as Rhian came into the room, actually scooting away from her until she explained things. He could cuddle with her? Overjoyed, he flung his arms around her, the book dropping and falling off the bed with a thud. Nuzzling like there was no tomorrow, Lauss closed his eyes, very much enjoying the scent of her incense once again. "Rhi..." he murmured happily, confirming to himself that it was, in fact, her. It was lovable, adorable, wonderful Rhi in his arms again.

"Yeah, but he's mostly gotten over all of that, you know," Zia said, shrugging. "I don't think he's putting as much an emphasis on that as he is that he can give Kelly a better life." The Essentic watched Rhian go past the door, tilting its head slightly. "Fao must've let her go see Lauss."
Downstairs Faolan had moved aside to let the two kids talk, just watching Kelly silently. He couldn't help musing over how much the boy's mannerisms were his own. He'd have to do something about that mop of hair, too. The poor kid had inherited his unmanageable locks and was in dire need of a haircut.

Rhian snuggled up to Lauss, her arms pinned to her sides as she nuzzled back at him, spoaking in his happiness and adding it to her own. "Lauss-teacher......I missed you," she murmured softly, almost asleep but staying awake just enough to talk to her Lauss. "Than's............ f'r th' pre'y flow'r......." she murmured, kissing his neck softly as her eyes started to slip closed.
Ellandra nodded. She had also seen Rhian go by. "That's a good thing... she's been so sad lately, and I'm sure Lauss can't have been muc better," she said quietly. "Is she all right though, Ziazan? Faolan said Rhian exhausted herself helping Kelly, but didn't say much more than that. . ."

Lauss blinked, pulling back from her and looking down. "You're welcome. I missed you, as well, Rhi. More than anyone ever missed anyone, I think." He sounded like a child, but it was still heartfelt. Brow furrowing as he noticed Rhian was incredibly sleepy, he sat up, resting her down and pulling the blanket around her, trying to make her more comfortable before clinging to her again, this time a bit more gently. Was she even still awake? Did it matter?

"She said she missed him a lot, but otherwise seemed to be alright," Zia said, shrugging. "I'm sure once she's not grounded anymore and rules are set in place for them so they can see each other more regularly, they'll both be alright." It went over to look at Sam again, smiling at the infant's open eyes. "Little sneak. Been listening the whole time, eh?"

Rhian burrowed up again Lauss until she was nearly pillowed by him, curled up almost in the manner of her bygone flutterby days, when she'd cuddle with him on the floor of the vardo. She was nearly entirely asleep, but her tired mind registered just how very happy she was to be with Lauss-teacher, and tried to send that message to Lauss in the manner that didn't require words - she brushed her antennae against him, transmitting her happiness to him.
Ellandra tried not to giggle. "He's far smarter than most infants his age, isn't he?" Ellandra half-said, half-asked. "Is he hungry too, Ziazan?"

Lauss purred softly, in the exact same manner as he'd done when they were protos. It had been a while since he was this happy, this carefree. He'd even found her antennae flicking against him somewhat soothing at this point, not only receiving some of her happiness, but her sleepiness as well. Rhian was more than special. Was there a word for what she was? He was becoming too tired to think about it any longer, snuggling a bit closer before letting his own eyes fall shut, popping an eye open to catch a glimpse of her once more before closing them for good.

Zia reached down, standing on its tiptoes, to touch the infant. "I think he's a bit hungry. His ears are kinda like radars." The Essentic looked up at Elle. "I wouldn't really know if he's smarter or not. I don't have much experience with infants."

Rhian gave a little sigh and drifted off to sleep, thoughts of her Lauss in her head.
Ellandra smiled and, recognizing that Bel was finished eating and wanted to go back to sleep, stood up and effectively switched babies, quite used to the routine by now. "He seems more perceptive of things, but then it may just appear that way because of his gifts and his hearing," she said, stroking the downy orange fluff on her son's head as she scooped him up.

"Maybe. From what I read of Fao and Granda, Fao was sort of a smart baby, too. He's really intelligent, he just doesn't use it all the time," Zia laughed. "I guess with you and him as their parents, they're gonna be really smart kids."

"There's a fine line between genius and insanity, though," Ellandra said softly. "With all of the smart children Faolan and I might have, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if one of them was more on the insane side of genius." As she spoke, however, there was a tone in her voice that clearly indicated that the thought of such a child was endearing to her rather than worrisome.
