K'han might be occasionally thick, but he didn't exactly miss Panata's look, or the way that people were eyeing Roheth. It wasn't fair that such a selfless bronze would be lumped in with his more violent siblings. Roheth had been patient, responsible. He hadn't harmed anyone. And yet... Perhaps the emotional wounds, as well as the physical, were still too raw to allow any dragonet, no matter how well-meaning, near.
I think maybe we shouldn't stay, K'han thought in Roheth's direction. Probably somewhat clumsily, as he still had to concentrate on the whole "speak to your dragon with your mind" thing.
But he needs our help, Mine! Roheth glanced up, an unhappy yellow-grey beginning to invade the serene blue of his eyes. The bronze dragonet didn't fully understand the feeling of unease around him, and yet he could sense that something was wrong. They ought to fix it! Couldn't they fix it?
The healers will take good care of him, much better than I could. We've said what we came to say.
"I can't stay long," K'han remarked, as much to the rest of the group as to Panata. "I think the Weyrwoman is going to make an announcement or something at the feast, I should be there." An attempt at his usual crooked grin, perhaps a little more subdued than usual, but better than his former somber expression. "At any rate, you seem to have a crowd of well-wishers... I'll see you soon, okay?"
Oh, the queen! You're right, we should not keep her waiting. Roheth cast one last glance, full of whirling emotion, at the wounded candidates, then moved back. K'han rubbed his eyeridges in a silent thank you for trusting his judgement in this, then turned to go.

Giving Sellae a strained small Nadia shook her head in response to her question. “No, I got them from the kitchens… extra from the feast I think.”
Keeping one eye on the dragonet, she casted her eyes around to look at the others clustered in the room, taking in the looks on their faces and the bandages that most of them where covered in. She felt kind of bad for the bronze, of all of the hatchling he was one of the better ones after all, they were lumping them all in the same category with the blue but she guessed that it would take awhile before some of them where more comfortable around the dragons again.
Watching as he left Nadia moved into Panata’s line of sight and gave him a gentle pat on an uninjured part of him. “You okay?”
