Everyone has them at some point in life; whether it be personal, business, or educational deadlines, we all have them. My most common deadlines are for school and for my Novel. Every week I have a deadline of one chapter throughout the week days and one over the weekend.

Well, today I have to get twenty+ pages into the 12th chapter. I was two when I started and I feel overwhelmed! Over the next two days I have to finish chapter 13. That's not so bad; I've been known to finish a chapter in one day (as I am attempting to do today).

I want to know something from you authors. What do you do when you have a deadline to follow?

I can't wait to hear about all of your deadline habits.

With me, it's a love/hate relationship. I hate them because they're stressful, but, as they saying goes, nothing would ever get done if not for the last minute. I'm a procrastinator. Deadlines stress me out, but at the same time they provide motivation for me to get thing done.

Procrastination is my thing. I'd say it was my middle name, but "Michelle" suits me much better, so I'd rather not go that far.

If i don't have a deadline, it doesn't get done. Even when I do have a deadline, it rarely gets finished on time.

I think I'm a little hopeless. rofl

I understand. I am about twelve pages short of where I should be and I don't know what I am going to do . . . Well, I know I am going to take a bath because typing in no light sucks.

Hah. Wtf is a Deadline?
I don't do Deadlines. I do whatever the hell I feel like, whenever. Whether that's writing, or screwing around on 360.

Wait. You will learn that you Need deadlines. Whether from your boss, when homework is due, when you have to get the rough draft to your publisher, when dinner has to be made, when you have to pay the bills, and so on. All deadlines.

School deadlines suck! I absolutely hate them. I try to get started early, but I have absolutely no inspiration until a night or two before hand. Then, I just type it all up, turn it in, and for some strange reason, I get a decent grade. For example, I wrote my best speech in speech class the night before it was due. I make procrastination an art form. ^^

For my writing, when it's just a story or poem, and not an essay or research paper or something, deadlines kill me. My Creative Writing Class grade is pretty good right now, but when I have to write for a deadline, they never turn out exactly the way I like them. Then again, with no deadlines, they never actually get finished, so... yeah. It's a pick your poison thing for me there.

It's that way for all of us, it seems.

I am one of the worst people to follow up on dead lines, because I tend to go with the flow, but when I know that because of my nature I put everything off to the last minute. To prevent this I put in a place where i am forced to see it on vsrious occassions. in the case of home work i put it in the front of my binder/ folder.

but in my life i dont really have that many dead lines. if its not a paper type thing, but its a chore type thing, i simply get done or try to do it before anything else.

thats all i have to say. mrgreen
