My biggest problem with the game as of now is a specific card combo. If you play a Darksteel Forge and a Platinum Angel in the same deck, there is a very small chance that the combo will be broken. The darksteel forge makes the platinum angel indestructible, and the platinum angel makes it so that you cannot lose and your opponent cannot win. Other than that, I have no problems.

Yet, if you play mutilate with over seven swamps in play, the player of the angel and forge just wasted a lot of time.

That is what is great about magic. Sure, something might seem unbeatable, but nothing ever is. You just need to find that kink in your opponents armor.

Yeah, thats why I said that there was a small chance, because there will always be that one card that will be able to take down even a combo like that.

Plus, the Darksteel Forge and Platinum Angel are pretty mana intensive, with cost of 9 and 7 apiece, respectively, if I'm not mistaken. One would have to have some serious mana acceleration ...

meaning green or lots of mana artifacts.

Aye, with Darksteel Ingot and Ur Golem's Eye coming to mind. And, depending on whether you go red or black as well, Seething Song and/or Dark Ritual, to name a few. Urza-tron might be helpful, as well.

let's see....i play tooth and nail, getting duplicant and darksteel collossus....you just wasted a boatload of mana, and i'm left with an 11/11 trampler, and a 4/4, when you have....a 9 mana cost artifact. even march of the machines wouldn't really help you much....
my point is, forge and angel are a good duo, but there's always a way around it. and if you kill the player before they get those out, there's no problem!

my personal pet peeve is matchups where i know i could have won, but didn't because of an oversight. but i try not to b***h and moan about it, because i play magic for a good time, and i'm not exactly aiming to be a pro.

my biggest problem would be new players and how they cannot remember one of the most inportant rules in life whitch works just as well in magic.

K.I.S.S.

not the band kiss or even the 2nd best thing a gal can do with her lips,, but

Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.

they usaly tell me how there decks are not working and they are looseing so many games and dont see the complete ovious that there is too many combos... or there is a relitiveley small chance of makeing that combo... or not egnough mana flow becuse its too expencive(etc.) ya... im ashamed that i do it myself... but notice it. most of the time these people are the ones that have $ to spend singles but dont take thew time to see if it really works inside the deck.

its like one of my cuzons keeps on asking me on how i use the wordmail/ people liked cards with really large names so we gave this card the longest name ever elemtal(or sometihng like that) combo so eazyally. and when i see that he has only 1 of each in his deck that he doesnt notice the flaw even after pointing it out to me... that is a 1 in 60 chance to get each so it is a small number. even 2 of each can greatley change the odds of getting that card out.(by a large persentage)

well i feel like im ranting but i bet you get the picture.

And, there should be more Vintage and Legacy tournies in this neck o' the woods ... xp

Agreed.

Nowadays it's all this type 2 whatnot. It leaves me wondering, "whatever happened to type 1?"

I'll bet I can get some knowledge of type 1 toruneys from the other kids at school, but still...
