Okay, I'm really not going to even bother reading the other results that don't have to do with your quote to mine because there's only really one question that has to be asked here ::

Do you love him?

And I don't mean love as in kiss on the lips, sex, and all that rock and roll. I mean marriage/commitment, kids, life lasting, it hurts to be without him for an extended period, I think about him all the time kind of love. Love. I hate to be the one to bring it up, but none of the rest matters if you love him. [Even though if he really loves you he would accept you for you and compromise; just saying.]

Also, don't just jump to a first response, you have to think about it. If you're happy with him, then don't spoil it. BUT you have to think about your future as well. What is best for you may not be what you want to be the best for you. And PLEASE please don't over think it. A pros and cons list absolutely will not help.

Hun, I don't have anything to say but I love him the way you described and far beyond that. He treats me extremely well other then the controlling problem. I know I was really angry when I wrote this, and that is why I put the thing at the top saying he is wonderful even though he is making a big mistake.

He is the only person I will ever be in a real relationship with. If he left me, which is the only reason we would no longer be together, I might after years and years mess around with people now and then but I would never date again. There is no point, he is the only one to fill that space, the only one I want to be the father of my future family. I could go on for pages about how amazing he is and how great he treats me aside form this, and if u want me to I will do so. If he wasn't I would not put up with it. I'm still hoping to find a solution though, that is why I posted this thread int he first place.

I'm mostly very happy but this controlling issue is a huge problem and is very upsetting. I suppose anything is possible, but I don't believe in more then one soul mate and nobody can be right for me the way he is even if they are wonderful.

Imma intervene for Fathom, hopfully she wont be pissed.

There are other reasons for someone to be controlling and it wont involve protections. Its just control.
Simple as that, nothing more, just control.
Like an animal.
Sit, stand, paw, dont go outside the fence, no barking.
Its a way of control with it seeming kind and protective.

Not to pissed Exile but yes that is what I was trying to say there is protecting someone out of love then there is just play doing something to be in control. Every couple has issues to do with.

what you need to do is sit down together and talk about what is bothering you and what you feel is controlling and what is protecting you. Comuncation is important in a relationship if you don't have it you won't last long.
