A faint blush rose to Apple Blossom's cheeks, and for a heartbeat she was glad that Sensis couldn't see her embarrassment; on the plus side it served to keep her warmer when the wind blew.
She stared quite intently at him as he leaned his head down and then carefully leaned her head towards his as well, her antennae twitching slightly before brushing against the top of his head.
Truthfully, Apple Blossom wasn't sure why she had antennae; they served no real purpose.

Sensis felt the antennae brush against his forehead and it sent a shiver through him. He couldn't quite tell what it was, it definitely didn't feel like hair, but what?
He took a step forward to lean into it more, tilting his head to the side to let the tip of the antennae brush against his cheek, mumbling quietly.
"I'm not sure I'll be able to figure this out, you have wings.." He took a few minutes to think about it and then he smiled wide, almost jumping up with excitement.
"Antennae?!" He smiled wide and then his face became a little puzzled. "Did Seraphim make you from a bug?"

Giggling softly, she twitched. Though her antennae served no purpose, the were particularly sensitive to touch. She continued to remain ( mostly ) quiet as Sensis seemed to ponder.
When he guessed correctly she let out a small cry of "Yes!" and was about to answer in a way he'd understand, but then he asked if she was made from a bug and... Well... No... She did have wings but they were more pixie-like than anything, since she had three sets... And her antennae didn't do anything... She thought about it for a moment but settled on Seraphim just being strange.
Plus, how many bugs smelled like fruit?
She fluttered her little wings, kicking up the smell of strawberries and apple blossoms and pressed her cheek against his for a second and then shook her head.

"I suppose you're right, no kind of bug I know could smell as good as you do."
He nodded matter of factly, leaning into her for a moment. He wondered just how dark it was getting now, he didn't want her to have to walk home by herself, but there was no way he'd be able to take her home and make it back safely to his own pasture.
He sighed quietly, thinking of himself leaving her at her pasture and then attempting to walk home, falling into some kind of ditch on the way and being stuck there for days... He shook the thought of quickly before speaking in a low voice.
"To ease my mind, would you stay with me tonight, just so that I know you're safe? I'd offer to walk you home but I don't think that would do either of us any good." He smiled slightly for a moment before lowering his head.

A smile quickly found its way back onto her face and she nuzzled her muzzle softly against Sensis' neck- her makeshift way of saying "yes."
She wondered if it was more for herself or for him that she stayed with him; She hadn't even really considered it, just knew that she wanted to stay- for whatever reason.
Apple Blossom was suddenly overcome with a sadness at not being able to speak to Sensis- not really, anyway. That was something they'd have to work on, of course, but she was sure it could be done.
Why? She hadn't the slightest idea.
But for now, under the Apple tree with him was a nice place to be, even as the night air got cooler and the hours grew later.

The cool air brushed against his pelt and sent a slight shiver down his spine, causing him to huddle closer against her side.
"Are there many stars out tonight?"
He lifted his head to look up toward the sky, smiling slightly before mumbling. "Sometimes I pretend I can see them, white and yellow, flashing across the night sky.. I pretend I can see a lot of things, I just make up what they look like in my mind, like the trees and the grass, sometimes even the other ponies!"
He laughed quietly, tilting his head to the side so it rest against hers gently.

When Sensis moved closer, instead of jumping away startled, Apple Blossom leaned closer against him.
She turned her head towards the sky just as he asked about the stars. From the corner of her eye she watched Sensis quietly, then nodded slowly against the length of his face.
There was no way to tell him, but she wondered what he imagined she looked like. It was a thing she probably took for granted- seeing. Not to mention hearing.
Falling completely silent, Apple Blossom's ears perked up to listen very intently to the sounds of the forest.

The hours passed and though he tried to stay awake for most of the night, Sensis ended up dozing off every now and then, leaning against Apple Blossom for support.
He new it must've been morning when he felt the warm rays of the sun against his fur, sending a slight shiver from his head down to his toes.
Relieved to have Apple Blossom still there, one of the reasons he didn't want to sleep was because he thought she might leave, he couldn't really blame her if she wanted to, but he was very glad she didn't. Resting his head against hers lightly, he mumbled quietly so he didn't startle her.
"Good morning.."
