Alexandria crooked a finger at a ball of green light, sending it zooming up to her. It was the size of an apple, a slight aura was radiating from it. There were cracks running all through the surface, widening slowly as seconds passed. She sighed and used her fingers to delicately push them closer, each crack sealing when it touch the opposite side. Soon, it was back to normal, or as normal as it could be. She gestured with a hand, brushing her white bangs out of her violet eyes as she did so. A small ghost boy appeared from the wisp, looking around dazedly. "Where is this place?" She heard him ask, a slight echo behind his voice. "This is the land of the dead, dear boy." She said softly, crouching down to his eye level. "Who are you?" He whispered. "I am the Spirit Guide." She answered. "Your family is waiting for you." She pointed behind her, to a small pale house. The boy smiled and ran past her, whooping with joy when he saw his parents who'd died.

"Ah, Alexandria, you're getting soft." Fen said, smiling and leaning up against a pale tree. "Sometimes I wonder if you're really supposed to be a human."

Alexandria glanced up and stood, different balls of colored light floating above and around her. Though she'd gotten used to seeing the man about this land as if he'd lived there his whole life, she was still amazed at the familiarity that he addressed her with. She nodded her head to the side, to a path leading through the forest that they were standing in. "That direction, as always."

Fen gave her a hug, lifting her up a little before setting her down again. He followed the path to a small cottage, rushing eagerly as he did.

Alexandria watched him until he disappeared, a splotch of color in the otherwise bland tones of the surroundings. To ghosts the world would be in full color, but to anyone else, all the colors would be faded. She saw both. She walked off, the wisps trailing her closely.

As Fen walked away towards the cottage and Alexandria wandered in another direction, Vanya appeared from the tree line to walk by her side. She was as graceful as Alexandria remembered, appearing to have materialized from the thick groove as if by magic. After all, she's known her for only god knows how long since she died. Hundreds of years? Thousands? One can simply lose track of the time after they become ghosts. Vanya's attire is the same as when she died; a green jerkin with a white undershirt, a green skirt with a pair of white shorts underneath, and a pair of brown boots. Her weapons were strapped in their respectable places securely even though she won't necessarily need them anymore. After a few moments of comfortable silence, she turned to the Spirit Guide, causing her strawberry blond hair to slide down over her shoulders like a silvery waterfall. Her mis-matched eyes of amber and blue bore into the side of her head. Never before had Alexandria seen such unique eyes nor will she ever again; her eyes are a sign that she could never learn how to use magic. "How are you doing, my friend?"

Alexandria glanced out from under her white bangs at Vanya. The elf woman was just as she was when she first came to the land of the dead. Some altered their appearance to a younger or older self, but Vanya had made the decision to stay the same. Alexandria herself, though she could change her whole appearance, had kept a human form for a long while. It was simply easier to piece together souls with smaller hands and fingers. "I am as well as I ever have been, Vanya." She replied, calling a wisp closer to her so she could examine it. "And as I ask everytime we meet, how are you in this world?"

Fen paused at the door, a hand raised to knock. He was always filled with apprehension of seeing her. And also of dread, in case something had happened. Though there was a rare chance of that happening, he couldn't help but think of all the possibilities. finally he took a deep breath and opened the door slowly. "Honey, I'm home!" He called out cheerfully, referencing something. A ghost woman came out of the next room, curious, but her eyes lit up when she saw him. "You're back!" She exclaimed, and rushed towards him. He took her in a hug, even though she should have been transparent to him. "I missed you too, Selena!" He replied, smiling happily.

Brandon stood on a hill, looking on watching Alexandria talk with a female ghost. He was petting a small cat, with black fur and deep gray eyes. He wondered how long he'd been here. Time seemed to blend together in the land of the dead. He looked down at the cat in his arms and shifted it. "Don't you think it's time you changed back? You've been like this for days." Brandon was the type to complain when she was one way for to long. He liked her better when she was 'normal'.
The cat meowed, sounding annoyed and angry. She jumped from his arms and as her paws hit the ground, a small light surrounded her, and she transformed. Her long black hair fell over her shoulders and she fixed her sleeves and patted her dress to be sure there were no folds. "Is Master Brandon happy?" She staired at him, a teasing smile playing across her face.
"I'm always happy." He whispered. He let his vision stray back to Alexandria and the other ghost. "Should we go and say hello? We haven't seen her in a while."
Jane shrugged. "I don't mind if we do or we don't. Its up to you."
He nodded and started donw the hill, his weapon following close behind.

Vanya looked down at the ground in slight sadness. Every time she thought about how she died, she couldn't help but feel grief about not being with the ones she loved, not doing certain things, and the like. But, even though she felt hurt thinking about it, she responded anyway. "You should probably know my response by now; I died protecting the one I loved most. I have not seen him here in the years I have been here, so I know he is still alive. I just-" She paused in her reminiscing when she felt the energy of another ghost and a live person. Turning towards the energies, she pulled out her pair of tonfa upon instinct, not truly thinking about if they were good or bad. Just trying to protect herself and Alexandria.

Alexandria put a hand on Vanya's shoulder to calm her. "Hold yourself, Vanya. They will not do harm to us if they wish to keep themselvs in one piece." She looked at the newcomers curiously, noting that one was a ghost and the other was a living person. When she found one of the living in this realm, she was always uneasy. "I have not found a way to send you back, Brandon. I can still try, though, if you are willing for an attempt."

Brandon bowed his head slightly as a silent greeting. "I have nothing to go back to. My body is in a hostpital, selfish bastards swarming around it like a bunch of wolves. I'd rather stay here." He was being honest. He couldn't think he could go back to the living and kill himself. He'd never had the heart. And he didn't think it would be easy to die with one of those machines looking after him.
Jane was looking into space, listening to the words being spoken. She stayed silent. She may have been an outgoing person, but her intinsive training had kept her uptight. She rarely said a word unless she was spoken to. Brandon has tried to fix this many times by not speaking to her for days, but she never muttered a single word. It worried him sometimes.

Vanya paused at the hand on her shoulder but didn't put her weapons away until she saw what they looked like. A boy around seventeen years of age and a girl at sixteen. Neither looked dangerous (by dangerous, she didn't see any weapons on them), so she slowly slid the tonfa pair back on her belt. But she didn't remove her hands from the handles, just in case she had to whip them out again. Throughout the conversation, she hadn't said a word like the girl had. She just kept looking back and forth between the two newcomers, remaining ever vigilant about something that could give away if either is a threat or not.

Alexandria shook her head. "I am sorry, I do not think that I can simply kill you for you to get your wish. I may be the Spirit Guide, but that is not within my abilities. You would have to return to the land of the living to be able to die, or, wait for your physical body to expire, to join this realm." She said, then let her hand fall from Vanya's shoulder. "There is nothing I can do at the moment."

Fen held Selena for a while until she pulled herself away. "Where have you been? You haven't been to see me in a while!" She said, looking him up and down. He shrugged and gave the answer he always did. "Doing my duty. It's hard to get away when you're working for who I am. Oh, uh..." He shifted from one foot to another, then pulled out a tattered piece of clothing. "It got torn up." He admitted somewhat sheepishly. The ghost woman took it from him in her see-through hands and frowned. "Do you think you can fix it?" He asked. "Of course I can, it won't be too hard. Who did it this time?" She replied, going to sit down in a chair. "Well, technically, it wasn't him. It was someone else..." He left off, not able to tell her the truth. The ghost woman huffed playfully and shook her head. "You'll have to tell me all about it."

Brandon thought of his choices for not even a second before saying "I'd rather just wait on my body to expire. I'll just wonder around here until then. You can't make me leave without a fight. I'm not leaving Jane." His voice changed as he spoke. It became a bit desperate.

At the change of his tone and his words, Vanya couldn't help but feel a smile tug on her lips and a slight sadness clench her heart. She knew the feeling that this boy, Brandon, was experiencing. "You must love her a lot. Enough to protect her with your life, I imagine." In her mind, she wished them well and certainly hoped that the girl, named Jane, apparently, returned his feelings. She knew the feeling of loving someone, yet not receiving the same love. It was painful.

Brandon looked at the girl who had spoke and was silent for a moment. "Yes.... I do." He smiled like she was. "She is more of my protector, though. If it wasn't for her, I'd haven been powerless against our enemies in the living world. I would be dead for sure."
Jane made a small grunt sound. Her cheeks turned a little pink. She hated when he talked of her like this with her standing there. It was embarassing. But it made her happy to know he thought of her so highly. That was rare for a owner to talk so well of his weapon.

Alexandria stared at Brandon for a long moment with her violet eyes. He did look happier in this realm. She nodded, saying, "Very well. If you wish to stay here, then you may. But if you happen to return to your physical body, then your soul will not remain here until you truly die. I cannot help you anymore than giving you information." She pieced together a wisp and an old man shambled past the group.
