Elemental Metal List for WoG Version 2.0

Elemental Metals are the metals that conduct power from the Elemental Stones. Each Elemental has it's own unique metal conductor, and these metals are what refined stones are set into for artifacts and jewelry for Gaians to wear. These ores are almost as priceless as the stones themselves - and are sought after by various mining companies across Gaia.

Fire: Mythril

Water: Silver

Air: Zinc

Earth: Iron

Light: Platinum

Dark: Niobium

idea The Elemental Bloodline of Darkness idea
The Royal House of Mournay

Beloved of Darkness, A'ska was chosen by the element to be the Scion when the elemental departed for slumber. Neither reckless nor tiresome, she led the tribes of Darkness, She is the founder of the Mournay line, though not in name but bloodline. She did nothing so fancy as bleed light, but it was said that where she walked, her shadow devoured others very being and soul.

She did not marry, but took for escort man of the Dark tribes, referred to only as Julian. From his loins, she bore two children, one female,Dria (Twilight Darkness) and a male, Mournay (Morning Darkness). It is from the male that the Mournay line descends.

Mournay's lineage begins there, with Mournay taking for a wife, Eva also of the Darkness tribes. She bored him 4 children, though only three were his own. For her treasonous act of lying with another while he was away at war with the Earth tribe, she was killed.

His eldest, S'adrian, trusted no woman so instead took a concubine from the prisoners of the Earth tribe, one called Merianda and sowed upon her one child, Micah, who took a wife from among his cousins, Jessica.

From them, came two children, Augustus and Meri whom married each other. From their loins came four children, the oldest of whom was named Joshua. Augustus founded the city of Deinos and would have lived happily had it not been for Joshua's rebellion in taken for his concubine a child of the Light's Scion line, Miako.

This begun a war between the two yet again, raging over the lands of the Earth tribe by both countried, forcing the native tribe like people further into the mountains to escape the conflict. There was only one child born of this union, Aiko. Miako took Joshua's life along with her own, in hopes of helping her family. But Augustus took and raised Aiko as his own, bringing her up with pride, forcing her to marry a man of the Fire tribes in hopes of attempting peace. But the peace did not last, and Aiko sat upon the throne only one year before her uncle Henry displaced her.

Taking for himself the name of Augustus, like his brother and father before him, Henry made sure no one even knew that the old king had died. Even Aiko had her husband take the name so as to not be found out as an imposter to the throne.THis legacy only solidified the image of the Darkness as an undying force.

And so the line continued in such a manner, for almost 2,000 years, falling out of the Mournay line only 4 times before being brought right back within. Currently the king is Aruski De Mournay, whose marriage was both a blessing and a curse. For it was a love match, whose time was limited as the wife, Reinelle was struck by an assassin's arrow, leaving the King and one of the two Avatar's of Darkness in deep mourning and the country in the hands of the young Prince Regent Anastazi and his sister, the crown princess Serefina.

question Dark's Relations with other Bloodlines question

Fire

Protectors of the Light tribe, Darkness has a respect for those of the Fire clan. They frown upon the association with the Light, but respect the members of the bloodline themselves who have shown brillantly in battle. They neither hold a grudge towards them, nor welcome them with open arms, but they are kept at a safe and tolerable distance.

Water

Despite their close ties to Water, Dark also has close ties to the fluxing clan of Water, though they know that their proximity to Light, hinders their cause more then helping it. Currently there is an official alliance in the works to tie the house of Mournay with that of the Suimibara clan but what comes of that remains to be seen.

Air

Their closest Ally, the Air country of Astraena and their bloodline kin, the Zephyre family is held in both contempt and respect. An upstart nation in the eyes of the De Mournay line, they still respect the power that the Air republic represents with their airships. However, by degrading themselves with matters of commerce, the Darkness line finds it hard to respect them other than superficially and using them to their own advantage.

Earth

Comtemptable and barberious, the Earth tribe should have long been wiped from Gaia. It is only through sheer generousity and the blessing of the Light tribe that the Darkness has not swept them from the land. Below only Light in comtempt, the Earth tribe has few redeeming qualities which the A'ska tribe fully uses as it sees fit.

Light

Last and in the eyes of Darkness, certainly least is the Light Clan of Kaikou. Currently, there is no direct line of conflict with the clan as Prince Regent Anastazi is biding his time, measuring his opponent as if it were a chess game. The internal view of those of the Light clan is one of weakness, passively arrogant in their belief that only those of the Light can lead the world, instead of the so called balance they proclaim too loudly and too longly for those of the Darkness to believe. So those of the line of Light are treated cautiously, waiting for them to strike, knowing it is only a matter of time.

idea The Elemental Bloodline of Water idea
The Amayuki family

Long ago, a child named Leiko was chosen by Water to be the Scion. It is said that her tears were purer than the purest freshwater stream, and tasting them was to taste heaven. But the woman was quiet, and mild-mannered, and soon vanished into history. Her descendants knew what they were only by the tales, passed down from father to son, from mother to daughter. Some forgot the tales, and even today do not know who they are.

About 150 years ago, a woman of the water bloodline sprang into history again. Her name was Kyoko Amayuki. She was a pirate. After founding the nation of Hyouto, she bore a son, who sired two daughters, only one of which married. That one was Yoshiko Amayuki, mother of Yuriko Amayuki, who is the head of the Suimibara clan that rules Hyouto today. Yuriko bore a single daughter named Nami, who married a common craftsman and bore seven children.

question Water's Relations with other Bloodlines question

Fire

Though the Fire clan protects the clan of Light, incidents in the past have caused Water and Fire to cultivate a mutual hatred. We're still working out why.

Air

Water loves the Air bloodline, and has close ties with them. Water is strong alone; allied with Air, it believes itself invincible. The Zephyre family was even made a member of the Suimibara clan.

Earth

Water sympathizes with the Earth tribe. They still remember the days of the pirates, when they, too, were despised as scum. However, they will make no official action to help the Earth tribe, as they fear and respect the power of Dark.

Light

Water respects the power of the Light, and though the Water bloodline itself feels little connection to its former homeland, many of the citizens it governs do. Thus it maintains friendly ties to Light.

Dark

The Dark commands the power of Hyphos, a power Water would prefer was not turned against Hyouto. Thus the Amayuki family, with the blessing of the Suimibara clan, is working to establish diplomatic ties.

idea The Elemental Bloodline of Fire idea
The Katsushika Clan

602 b.N. Flight from Blood Riot
The origins of the Katsushika are traced back to the Blood Riot sickness, due to the strain being put on the Fire Elemental itself. A large group of panicked citizens evidently puts their trust in several departing vessels; this portion of Katsushika history is known as the Exodus. Evidently they make their way out to sea, and at that point records are sketchy.

600 b.N. Landing on [insert name here]
What is known is that the group that was to become the Katsushika crash-landed on an island.

599 b.N. Darkness Closes in
Meanwhile, possibly the most unlucky thing ever to occur happens. A large group of Hyphos soldiers has the bright idea of assaulting the city of Higashi from the sea. They forget why no man in his right mind would ever venture onto the waves. One third of the "fleet" is lost at sea, one third retreats and one third is slaughtered by the Higashi defenders, and the flagship Dzulgor crash-lands on [insert name here] one month later.

580 b.N. The Butchers of Hyphos
Approximately twenty years later, a party of survivors begin to explore the island. When the only response they ever were given was the party of soldiers that immediately began butchering them, for the next century and a half, the humans gradually learn how to hide, to evade, to sneak past the brute orcs. Then Katsushika Takamasa was born.

463 b.N. A heart of Fire
Katsushika Takamasa is born in the year 136 by Gaia standards. His parents are killed in an Hyphos raid when Takamasa is 16. The encampment where Takamasa's family is living fails to learn of the impending attack, and the young man vows not to let such an atrocity happen again.

447 b.N. The Ronin
At this point history and myth begin to intertwine. Current Katsushika legend states that one night, Takamasa is visited by Kenshi, and is told that he must discover the way to strike against the Darkness (as the Hiding called them) by using the powers of the land to aid them.

"Draw your strengths from night, from heat, from nature, wherever you can. On our level of existence, The Darkness has nearly won! But they have grown complacent, and the time has come to strike back. I will contact you again when the time is right."

[Some more stolid historians have noted that Takamasa was one of many of the younger bloodliners to enjoy a beverage made of saltwater and crushed seeds, and as such may not have been entirely stable.] However, Takamasa always holds his vision as truth, and several of the Hiding, tired of the constant running and fear of the soldiers, fall behind the charismatic leader. There is also the rather convincing evidence of the divine blade Shinka, which one mage has confirmed is imbued with flame powers. The woman who eventually is to become his wife, a descedent of Leiko herself, was among these, and it is she who is credited with the discovery that may have been the most important to the Katsushika clan: the poisonous plant, dubbed in the name of the Water Elemental.

Thanks to many helpful pushes from Kenshi, the Hiding are prepared. Through many trials, they have trained without stopping, respectively being able to move silently enough to not disturb a cave filled with bats, and the ability to endure the fear and heat of flame itself.

443 b.N. Assault on Fortress of Dorolak
Kenshi appears before some of the members of the group, and teaches them a final lesson, of the power of the native plants and animals to kill. Finally, the group (seven in number according to the legend) steal a ship and sail under a deep fog to the other side of the island where the fortress erected by Hyphos lay.

When there, the ten each do their work. Akuma no Jubei and Ishito swiftly sink many of the transports under construction, Kan and Kasa poison the water supply, while Obakeken escorts them. You may note that leaves two to be accounted for.

Takamasa and O-chiba have stolen into the heart of Dorolak, and as they draw closer, oppressive darkness begins to cover the halls. Shadows dissapear, camouflage falls apart, and even Shinka is growing weak. Then they arrive at the innermost sanctum: A violet and golden room, fire streaming around it, and three mages chanting around a strange orb. An orb that in Takamasa's vision seems to be screaming out that the two were there. The mages evidently share this vision, and suddenly the shadows around the room shapes itself around the mages and starts to look like a man:

A man who stands ten feet tall, his eyes pools of obsidian, his armor eternal blackness, his sword the night itself. Takamasa draws Shinka, and utters one brief prayer.

"Fool! Here, the Father of Flame is powerless. And in the heart of MY sanctum, even with that sword, you are even more worthless than he is!"

Legend tells many things of the battle that follows. There are those who say that Takamasa presses the Dark Elemental to his limit, and there are those who say that Takamasa simply is lucky. But then there are also those who say that the Light elemental finally allows Fire his retaliation against her shadowed brother. However, on one thing all tales agree. The Dark elemental is on the verge of slaying Takamasa, when O-chiba throws herself in front of the blow, sacrificing her life for that of her beloved. And in the moment of her death, something snaps within the young hero. Somehow, Takamasa strikes the heart of the Dark elemental with the divine blade Shinka. Somehow, he is returned to the Fire Temple. Somehow, the last remnant of O-chiba is taken with him.

The Tomb of Takamasa is not a great place, in the senses of many. Indeed to many it would appear simple and shabby, lacking the ornate decorations of the resting places of such as many Kings. However, there is something very commanding about the simple bier of dark marble and flame... and the single rose atop it.

440 b.N. Death of Katsushika Takamasa
Katsushika Takamasa, after teaching all he knows to his son Yoshitora, dies. His tomb is placed within the Temple of Fire itself. Noted at his funeral are the five other men and women who aided Takamasa in the assault on Dorolak.

Eventually those five would branch off with their individual skills to form seperate clans, thus spreading their knowledge.

300 b.N. The Clans re-establish link with Higashi
Arrangements are made and supplies as well as other support is sent out periodically. The age of Shinobi is officialy born.

By now: Shinobi Watchword
The Shinobi are a watchword in much of Higashi as the elite assassins of the shadows. Moonblades pierce Gaian weaponsmiths' awareness, and they start churning out imitations. No substitute for the real thing, though.

The current bloodline descendent and leader of the Katsushika clan is none other than Katsushika Shinken.

Air
Unknown.

Earth
Unknown.

Light
Fire is intertwined with the power of the Light, and though the Light bloodline can do more than fend for themselves, Fire watches over them dutifully.

Dark
The Dark is nothing when brought into the fierce light of Fire. Nothing but trouble, and even going so far as to label them 'evil', Fire has no qualms about striking out against Hyphos; however they are bound to serve under word of Higashi and thus restrain themselves.
