He's about 10 yrs old, Appy, gaited. He was a Huricane Katrina victim, stood in water for 2 wks. I would guess, not much farrier care since then. He's mostly just sitting out in the pasture. Owner says she saw this that morning and only noticed it b/c his back leg was stocked up from sitting in a stall waiting for me to arrive. She wanted him to stay clean. This wound (?) isn't sensitive to the touch. He's not lame. He's big, fat and lazy. In person the wound (?) almost seems like it's a growth coming from under the frog at the heel. I know Apps are prone to cancer.
