Well you know how senior trips are always to places like New York, Boston, or heck, even Disneyland? Well not for me!
Next summer (Yes i have planned this out and whatnot) I will be traveling to Louisville. Kentucky to visit:
WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM!!!!!!!!
For those who do not know here is some info:
Waverly Hills was a hospital used for Tuberculosis (AKA the White Plague). It is estimated that 64,000 people died there! When patients died they would be taken down what is known as the DEATH TUNNEL.
This is just some basic on the hospital look up more for more info!
Hauntings and Sightings:
MAIN ENTRANCE:
An old woman has been reported running out the door, her hands and feet shackled as she dripped blood. She screams for help before dissapating into air.
THIRD FLOOR:
Next we have Mary. Mary has been seen dressed in white and bouncing a ball (Some reported hearing and not seeing the ball). One account the woman claimed Mary talked to her, but all she would say is she has no eyes! Others say she watches out the window and can be spotted doing so on third floor and outside.
Also (I believe it is on this floor) Is a young boy named Timmy! Timmy has been known to play ball with guests that visit and is one of the most famous along with Mary!
ROOF:
Reports of children sing "RING AROUND THE ROSIE". Children were taken to the roof for fresh air and sunshine (Which was believed to be the best cure back then)
ROOM 205:
In 1928, the head nurse hung herself and she was pregnant. (Unaccounted for). In 1932, a nurse is said to have jumped from the window. A nurse has been reported hanging around on this floor. Some have felt despair in this room and some have heard a voice say: "GET OUT!"
Death Tunnel:
A 500 foot shute leading from the hospital to traintracks at the end. When someone died, they would send the bodies down the shute by cable rails down to a hearse down by the tracks. This was done so the patients would keep their morale high.
Cafeteria:
Reports of the smell of food but food hasnt been made since 1982. A man in white has been reported wheezing in the area. Some believe he was a worker who caught and later died of TB.
4th Floor:
Supposedly the most active spot in the hospital, shadows have been reported running down the halls. Doors have been reported slamming for no reason as well.
Other:
A floating head reported by a guard, strange lights when their is no electricity, etc.
I am extremely excited to be doing this!
Its much cheaper than senior trip and its always been one of my dreams to go there!
