So Friday night in Vancouver was The Golers(http://www.myspace.com/thegolers), Bison(B.C.)(http://www.myspace.com/bisoneastvan), and 3" of Blood at the Commodore Ballroom.
The drive to Van. was 9 hours and I got a late start due to the bank changing ATM providers which weren't configured to accept my cards. So I arrived at 7:45, show was at 9. My friend and I checked out The Golers and decided they were cool for one song and weren't worth going to see for a full half hour, besides I was mostly there for Bison. We did some pre-concert drinking as per usual, 5 beers each, then hit the Vancouver transit.
We arrived at the Commodore just as The Golers had finished their set and as we were grabbing another couple beer, its a sign of respect to double fist at a Bison show, Bison took the stage while my friend and I found a great place to stand in the middle about 8 rows from the stage. Bison were damn fine and rifftacular. We ended up going through 4 beers each.
3" came on after Bison left and we grabbed another double fist helping of Molson. Not being as interested in 3" we opted for an area just left and right in front of a speaker. 3" thankfully dropped the douche that didn't do anything but scream and so only the Bruce Dickinsly singer was left though he didn't sound too great when you're 8' from a speaker so we didn't hear a whole lot of their set. The blood came back for an encore of some BOC song I don't remember and Deadly Sinngers, which was fun.
My friend and I left drunk and happy and wondered the block looking for things to do. We ended up getting food at a Fritz and had the worst pint of Kokanee ever at The Bourbon. All in all it was a good show and Bison was better than Maiden.
