Kashya stared out the dark windows of the eight-thirty five Route nine bus. Unfamiliar streets blurred behind slightly grimy and graffiti admonished windows of the mechanical monster as it churned out white exhaust clouds into the chill early night air. A brief glance about the bus identified Kashya as the sole rider in its carriage, a fact that Kashya knew made the elderly bus driver uncomfortable. But how could she blame him for that? A small, unusually dressed infant ridding on the bus unsupervised would have surprised her were she not the very infant under examination.
Though, her infant state of mind seemed wearying on her. She felt not at all like a child anymore, though both Ryo (when he was home) and Kurios continued to treat as one. Secretly she hoped maybe this visit would assist her in sorting her thoughts out, give her an insight or at least allow her to find understanding from someone who could make sense of this from experience.

While Kashya continued to repeat this rationality to herself as reason for her potentially dangerous lone venture, she admitted to herself in truth, she wasn’t really coming all this way just for understanding. The absence of her fairy floss headed friend had made her wishful to see him, and long to ascertain his spirits were not befallen.
Finally pulling into a stop and watching the beastly vehicle depart once again into its own cloud of pollution, Kashya looked between the list of street addresses in her hand and the sign post to her left. So far she had yet to deviate from track, and as long as her web map print outs weren’t leading her astray, Julien and Mirriell’s shared abode was just a few more streets away.

Wrapped up in her oversized sweater, courtesy of her secondary guardian, she continued her late night walk, reading the map expertly despite the lack of light source.

A breath of mixed joy and release slipped from her lips as azure eyes landed in the not overly familiar house. She skipped the remaining squares of pavement in twos, bouncing with anticipation and nerves as she gave a gentle rap on the door’s wooden body.

"Coming, coming," called out a familiar voice, and Jules made his way to the door with a slight frown. Mir was out of town for the weekend - some book signing or other event that Robin had put together for her, and Julien himself was wondering just who it might be on the other side of the door. Not Wapasha, surely. Hadn't he overheard Mir telling Wapasha her plans herself? So then...

Opening the door, Julien looked down, then blinked, a smile breaking across his face. "Hello," he said, stepping back to let Kashya in. It had been far too long since he'd seen her, and he found himself extra grateful now that he liked to cook for himself even when it was just him at home. "I didn't expect such lovely company tonight. Are you here alone this time?" he asked, shutting and locking the door behind him. "Would you like to join me for dinner?"

Seeing Julien opening the door drove home just how long ago they had last greeted one another.
She accepted the invitation inside, nodding curtly in thanks as she stepped over the threshold, standing beside him politely as he closed the door. While meeker than Julien’s, Kashya hoped her return smile was just as bright as the teens and turned ever more coy at his complimenting words.

“I am,” She replied, taking a brief look around, curios at the disappearance of the other house proprietor. She felt almost grateful to see Jules alone, for while he might accept her coming here on her own accord, it was possible Mireille might disapprove. “I’m always eager to try your culinary talents,” She added.

Seeing her look around, Julien simply smiled, turning to guide her toward the kitchen, where he could dish up another plate. "I'm afraid Mir's out of town at the moment," he offered, adding potatoes, carrots, and sauce-covered chicken to her plate. "But I'll tell her you say hello when she gets back, if you're not still here." Carrying her plate to the breakfast nook table, he set it down, then went back for a shallow bowl in which he placed a steamed artichoke and a little cup filled with a sort of salmony colored dip for it. "Be careful of this," he added, as he set those on the table too. "The dip is a little spicy. What would you like to drink?"
