MISSION- A Planner for a Scanner
Mission level: 1

Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to the Abandoned Ship and get the scanner.
The scanner should be near the back of the ship, but some of the passageways may be flooded.

Pokemon:
Magikarp
Wailmer
Barboach
Feebas

Funds upon completion: 400

---------------------------------------------------

Being surrounded by so much water made Entropy feel as if she was home again. However, the fact that she had basically swam all the way here was not particularly enjoyable.

“Why haven’t I taught you how to Surf yet?” she asked Hiccup as the pair backstroked their way toward the abandoned ship. He replied with a pleasant “Squirtle squirt squirt!” He was obviously enjoying himself with this. It wasn’t often that he got to swim for such a long distance, and it was great training for him. Entropy, on the other hand, found that her arms were starting to get sore.

Luckily, they had not had to swim the entire way; They had hitched a ride with a fisherman for the majority of the ride, but when the rocks around the shipwreck began to get too jagged and the boatsman would go no farther, the pair said thank you and made their way for the abandoned ship the old fashioned way. They had finally arrived, and Entropy stepped onto dry land (or, in this case, dry deck) once again. Although she was completely soaked, the satisfaction of knowing that they had finally arrived was enough to keep her from caring too much. “Alright, now let’s find that scanner.”

The two started going down corridors at random, not really sure where they were supposed to be looking for the scanner. There were many trainers within the corridors, practicing with the pokemon of the abandoned shipwreck, but Entropy and Hiccup made it their purpose not to be discovered by them. She was wearing the Team Aqua colors and she guessed that someone would be able to put two and two together, and she did not know if her team would be strong enough to beat some of these powerful trainers.

So, sneaking swiftly and silently by the trainers within the ship, they eventually crept upon a room that was half flooded. The room, which appeared to have formerly been a storage area because there were large boxes floating all about, was at an incline. The topmost portion of the room at the entrance was dry, while the lowermost region of the room had become flooded. On that side of the room, Entropy could see that, on one of the boxes, a device was sitting and reflecting the light from the doorway. “The scanner!” she exclaimed, happy to have finally found it.

She began the treacherous descent to the other side of the room; she had gotten about knee-deep in water when she felt something slide up against her leg. “What was that?” she whispered to Hiccup, who then poked his head underwater to get a better look. In less than a second, a Barboach had jumped out of the water and slapped Entropy in the face. “Ouch!” She rubbed her face indignantly, glaring down at the fish. “Alright, Hiccup, go and get that scanner while I take care of this little guy!” Hiccup nodded, then dove into the water and began the swim to the other side of the room. “Ok, Oddish, let’s see what you’ve got!” she said, releasing Oddish onto one of the floating boxes in the room.

The Barboach first spouted out a water gun at Oddish, though all it did was wetten her leaves and cause her to stagger slightly. “You can handle this, can’t you, girl? Let’s try an Absorb!” Oddish nodded, pointing her leaves in the Barboach’s direction. She began to absorb its health, doing some critical damage because of the type matchup. Barboach scurried into the water a bit before returning the blow with mud-slap. Oddish was almost knocked off of the box, this time, but she managed to hold her ground and stay strong. “Alright, one more absorb should do the trick!” she told Oddish. The little bud did the same move again, and this time the Barboach was obviously about to faint. “It’s almost there! Now, it’s time for a pokeb-“ just as she said the words, the Barboach fled into the water, then swam through one of the vents that had been flooded. Although she had bested the pokemon, she had not gotten the opportunity to capture it. “Well, you still battled really well, Oddish! I’m proud of you!” she beamed, giving the Oddish a little high-five before returning her to her pokeball.

By this point, Hiccup was making his way back to Entropy with the scanner cradled in his mouth. He didn’t know if it would react well in water, so he took painstaking measures to make sure that his head never bobbed below the surface. When he reached her, she took the scanner and sighed in relief. “Looks like we can finally get out of here!” The two exited into a slanted corridor; at the upper end they could see out the side of the boat and onto the deck, where it was dry. At the lower end, there was a mess of cables and wires floating in water and spurting out electricity. “Let’s be careful not to get tangled in that mess,” she said to Hiccup, and they began the trek upwards to the upper end of the corridor. When they were nearly there, they could see a man fishing off the side of the boat.

“I got one!!” He called out in glee, yanking back on his fishing pole with great force. After pulling and pulling, a Magikarp finally sprung out of the water, and he held it on his line. “Aw, heck, I don’t want no stinkin’ Magikarp!” Entropy watched quietly as the man took the Magikarp off of his line and threw it carelessly behind him, down the corridor. The poor thing, before going very far down, had become lodged between the edge of a door and a dresser that was in the hallway. It flopped between the two, crying for help. Without letting the fisherman see them, Entropy and Hiccup quietly slipped back into the corridor to help the pokemon.

At first, they tried simply pulling it out. Unfortunately, it flopped in protest and made their job extremely more difficult. They then tried pushing it, and although they were getting somewhere with that, the lodged pokemon would simply not keep still; it was scared of the fisherman, still. “Alright, Hiccup; you’re going to have to tackle him out of here,” Entropy sighed. Hiccup nodded, prepared himself, then launched his body at Magikarp’s. The pokemon released a loud “KAAARRRRP!!” in surprise as it was pushed all the way through the gap and out the other end.

Entropy had not, however, realized that un-lodging him would cause him to hurtle toward the other end of the hallway, where the electricity from the wires combined with the water would surely turn this pokemon into a fried Magikarp stick.

Without having time to think, Entropy did the first thing that came to her mind. “Pokeball, go!” She hurled the sphere toward the Magikarp with all of her might, and the force behind her throw allowed it to catch up to the gravity-pulled Magikarp. Both were rapidly approaching the wires, only two meters away, when Magikarp became absorbed in a red light and then popped into the pokeball. The ball hit the water, causing a few sparks, but Entropy knew that Magikarp was not harmed. She could not see the ball shake, but she could hear the almost inaudible ‘click’ from the top of the corridor. After wiping her brow to rid herself of the stressed sweat that she had started, Entropy and Hiccup walked down the corridor and to the water.

After about twenty minutes of retrieving the pokeball without getting shocked, (which involved a lot of poking and prodding with a stick that they found in one of the rooms) Entropy and Hiccup were finally ready to leave with their new companion in tow. They made their way outside the boat, happy to finally be done with their mission. But Entropy’s smile faded when they reached the deck and she had a sudden realization.

“We’re going to have to swim all the way back to land, aren’t we?” Hiccup only replied with the widest, cheekiest grin he’d ever produced. He then dove into the water, expecting Entropy to follow immediately.

The girl groaned, then cannonballed into the water before returning to the familiar backstroking position.

MISSION- Birch's First Break-in
Level 1 (Technically, but I tried to do it and treated in like Level 2)
Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Prof. Birch's lab in Littleroot and steal one of his three pokemon (Treeko, Torchic, Mudkip). You must sneak in at night. But don't get caught by Prof. Birch or his assistant. At some point you must battle the pokemon you stole/are stealing, if you want to catch it.

Pokemon:
Treecko
Torchic
Mudkip

Funds upon completion: 300

--------------------

This was a fun read. You made breaking into the lab seem a little more complicated than it probably really is, but you made it work, and it made the mission really interesting. It was very creative, but there were a few spelling and grammar errors. It was technically a level 1 mission, so I'll let those errors pass, but re-read a little more carefully for the higher up missions, 'cause the standards are set higher for them. Pass. Keep the money and the Pokemon you caught.

Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Mt. Pyre and catch a ghost pokemon.

Pokemon:
Duskull
Shuppet

Funds upon completion: 300

Very well done first mission. Couldn't see any major issues, other than a few minor spelling and grammar mistakes. Watch out for those, they'll make ya lose points in the higher up missions. Keep the money and the Pokemon! smile

Pokemon: Pokemon: Magikarp, Wailmer, Barboach, or Feebas

Rewards: 400 Pokémon Dollars

Pass! Well-written, and adding Team Magma in there (along with that funny captain) was a nice touch. Didn't see any spelling or grammar errors, which is a good thing for me, at least! Keep the money and the Pokemon. smile

MISSION- Night Raid on Devon
Level 1 Mission
Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Devon Corp's Nintendo Store and steal 50 DS units. But you must not be seen be anyone. Beware there are 10 guards in the building. You must enter the building. Then make your way to level 3 were the DSs are. But get them quickly and return back. All the units are in one box.

Wild Pokemon you may run into on the mission (you may only run into one):
Zigzagoon
Voltorb
Duskull

Funds upon completion: 1000

--------------------

Well done! Good length for a level 1 mission. Only hiccup I found really was the fact that you stated each of your character's had six Pokemon on them and then you had your seventh Pokemon (the ones that were released from the magical coins) appear on your person as well. You didn't attempt to use these newly acquired Pokemon, so I won't give you any flak for it, but next time, I would either keep five Pokemon on you, allowing for newly acquired Pokemon to appear to you right away, or have these magical coin Pokemon mysteriously appear in your PC storage. Keep the money and the Pokemon!

How to Become a Chef
MISSION - La Glace Apprenticeship
Mission Level 1

In order to become a chef, you must first cook at least one edible meal. These words of wisdom underscore the basic idea of food preparation. So, your task is to cook a three-course meal (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) for the local restaurant, La Glace.

They have all the ingredients and equipment you need, but you (and your pokemon) will have to do all the cutting, measuring, and other work to get the meal to the table. As long as the customer leaves with a smile and not Salmonella, you've done your job.

Rewards:
Chef Lvl 1: Commis + 1000 PD from La Glace

I don't think the Chef class will be returning (according to Jeff), unless we find a better use for it with Pokeblocks or something. ANYWAYS, the mission brief calls for you and your Pokemon to serve the meal, so I'm not completely sure what to grade this mission. I never researched the classes, so I don't know what part Pokemon are ultimately supposed to play in the Chef class. You can re-write the mission to incorporate your Pokemon, or accept half reward money.

Special Missions for Level 1
* MISSION - The Kids Are Alright

Every restaurant has a kid's menu. Every menu has a children's section. Every video store has a rated G aisle. And every store that's worth anything has a daycare (I'm looking at you Wal-Mart). The point is, La Glace 's menu seems to feature Caviar and Fish Heads as the children dishes! Find the cook responsible and knock some sense into him. Best him in a battle and he should put something more tasteful on the menu.

Rewards: 500 PD + 1 AP

Pass, but only just that. Blizzard is an inaccurate attack, but I'll let the constant hitting slide since you did have two Pokemon focusing the attack instead of just one. Also, you did give yourself an advantage by forgetting that Hyper Beam requires a recharge (you could've gotten several free hits in at a few points of the battle) and that Slakings have to "laze about" every two or three turns, I believe. AP doesn't exist anymore, but you can take 300 PD as a reward.
