Popping another few berries in his mouth he pondered over that, he'd always associated the 'peaceful life' with a family, settling down with one female or male and having a family. Moving to the fish as he chewed he realised she had a point, they where indeed not thrashing or partying, the air around them was indeed settling but this did seem an ideal quiet moment.
Instead of leaning down to eat some fish he stared at it for a moment before looking to Melaine with a big smile. "You know what babes, your right." She was, and contrary to Pip's thoughts and feelings he was very much enjoying spending this quiet time, especially with her. "I suppose you can have quiet and truly peaceful moments when your young too, fancy that!" The exclamation on the end resulting in a hearty roar of laughter, what a discovery, good thing not much got Pip down.

Melanie chuckled once she was able to swallow. "Learn a new thing everyday I guess.~" And now learning her lesson to not shove berries into her mouth she took a few more nibbles of the fish, before making a face again. "Guess I learned three today though- this one being to never switch back and forth between eating fruit and fish." Smiling she thought maybe now was a good time to bring up the watermelons.
"Oh yeah, Pip, have you ever heard of the watermelon seed spitting game?" She wasn't too sure how to play it, besides the spitting seeds part, but if he didn't know it then it probably wouldn't make a difference if she made up the rules as they went along.

Nodding in agreement to the learning new things he quietly nibbled away at his side of the fish swallowed and switched back to berries. Listening intently the whole time, for a male he multi tasked rather well he thought. Snorting with his mouth full he desperately tried not to laugh at her newest lesson, chewing quickly with eyes watering he swallowed and erupted in laughter, ignoring her change of topic for now. "Oh yea? What where the other two lessons sweet cheeks?" He quirked a brow oblivious to the fact that she may of also learnt the same lesson as him, but still that left one.
Looking around trying to spot the watermelons he could only notice her and her very similar pelt color, grinning he moved forward. "Does that involve taking Melaine in my mouth?" Winking at the end he grinned from ear to ear at his play of her name on words.

"Youth can be peaceful and not to shoved too much food into my mouth at once," she blushed in slight embarrassment, before taking another bite of the fish. By now the taste of fruit was gone, and she smiled to herself at the smoother taste.
Melanie brushed a cherry red at his question- glad that her fur was already that color and she had already swallowed her fish. Flicking her warm ears once or twice she gathered over the two watermelons as best she could with her tail. "Not quite.~ I thought that since we're both watermelon-like in our pelts, it'd be more traditional to play a contest-like game where we eat watermelon and spit the seeds as far as we can, trying to spit them farther then the other." She was pretty sure that's how it probably went. Males were better at this game, right? Usually they're better than females overall at just spitting.

"Right you are babe" He beamed as he shifted closer to the water melons she was describing over. Though he still only counted two lessons on her part, unless the berries and fish thing was the same as general stuffing food in the mouth? Either way it didn't matter much it was more like banter he was taking note in.
As Melaine explained the game he nodded and shifted his glance from the water melons back to her several times, half in understanding, half to catch a quick glimpse of the pretty lioness. "Aw so no consuming Melaine?" He smirked and quickly carried on "Sounds fun, who goes first babes?" Bringing his paw up and forward he placed it on of the two circular melons and started rolling it smoothly across the sand, "You know they say once you go Water melon you never go back...." Letting his voice trail off he kept his gaze off her this time, though it had many meanings he was hoping she pick up on the flirtatious one first.

"Doesn't matter to me- we can go at the same time if you'd like too." She Looked at one of the watermelons, wondering if there was any sharp boulder around to break it open. Melanie was pretty happy they they were kinda small; there was no way she'd be able to finish a large one by herself.
"Hm? I never heard of that saying..." She rubbed her chin with a paw, thinking about what it meant. Go watermelon? They were both watermelon colored so... "I guess what they say is true then," she smiled, "I don't think I ever went back to my boring old life after I met you, Pip." Her voice was gentle and she closed her eyes for a moment. Life was definitely more fun and didn't stop being fun after she met him! Pip pretty much made up her world... Opening her eyes she spoke again, "I'm really glad I met you, Pip. Really really glad!" She grinned at him.

"That seems fair, clever babes!" As she started to peer about he realised the dilemma, to play the game they needed the seeds which where very much firmly inside the watermelons. What they needed was something solid to smash them into like... a tree, plenty of those around!
Hesitating he waited for her to finish and chuckled to himself, he hadn't expected that response though it was very Melaine and it boggled him as to why he hadn't... perhaps because she was random in all the ways he wasn't, in almost an innocent sort of way. As she finished he felt a smile find it's on way onto his maw, no-one had ever said that before.... well not said it like that and him actually intend to stick around anyway. "D'aw Mel your adorable sometimes ya know that? You'd never need to you can parteh with the Pipmister for the rest of our days if you like!" He probably sounded a little to enthusiastic about the last part that any bachelor should but he found himself genuinely meaning it. Without even knowing it he'd carried on fidgeting with the Melon under his paws completely subconsciously.

Melanie chuckled, "I'd like that." She looked around, "now, what to break open these watermelons on..." There didn't seem to be a rock anywhere close- so she have to just settle for the next best thing. Rolling a watermelon over to the closest tree she checked to see if it was solid enough to at least crack the fruit. Seems strong enough...
Turning her head over her shoulder she called over to Pip, "hey, Pip, wanna help me toss the watermelons at this tree? Unless you know a better way than just throwing them that is." She smiled and flicked her tail, wondering how messy this game was going to get.

Almost going off into a day dream Pip watched Melaine wander off to the tree, admiring her form with a smile. It wasn't until she called back to him did he fully come back to reality and looked down at the watermelon remaining with him and at the tree with Melaine and the other Melon. Leaning down he pushed the Melon to the other and stopped looking at the tree in ponder. "Sure thang sweetcheeks" Beaming he turned with his tail furthest away from the positioned watermelon and with all his weight shifted and swung his tail into the melon, sending it hurtling into the tree and smashing into a number of chunks.
Without a thought spurts of melon juice went flying everywhere hitting Pip in the cheek and catching in his fur, and would probably hit Melaine too, oops!
