I thought I'd be seeing my Denver friend on this trip but he's leaving early and we'll miss each other. So I'm coming home 3 days early. I don't really care to visit San Diego for itself.

I was born in San Diego. I plan to visit it sometime.

were you just born there or did you spend some time there? How is it? For some reason it does not appeal to me, although I know very little about it. (It's near Mexico, there, that's all I know.)

I was born there, and lived in the area between ages 0-3.5; we left because a shampoo plant was not following recently enacted environmental laws and left black ash on the ground where we lived (a short distance away). I got asthma.
I don't remember much, as you'd expect.

i know how you feel, at least a little bit.
it makes a big difference, the people you are around. everything changes when the right people are there.
