I think it's the way the nose and the eyes line up, the nose looks a little too big or maybe it's the eyes being too low down, I can't quite put my finger on it.
And no, the Afro Samurai wasn't sarcasm it truly reminds me of that, why?

Whoa, that's pretty sweet. That's definitely Afro Samurai to me. I like how there's a general feeling of motion in the picture. Like *WHOOOOSH*... or something like that.
