Daniel nodded slowly, but was mostly absorbed in his nicotine fit, that is until he heard his dog growling at something. He glanced over toward the grocery store and squinted his eyes to see one of the window shade's wobbling a little. If Cosset wasn't growling he would excuse it as the wind, but obviously Cosset insisted something or someone was there. "Ya know, it's been my experience that this place gets re-inhabited quite frequently..." he noted.

Daniel's eyebrow raised as he took one last drag of his smoke. "With a flamethrower..." he laughed. "Lead the way, I don't want to get caught in front of you in closed spaces." He wouldn't use his rifle for this, instead he pulled his sub machine gun off it's hoslter by his hips and primed it, following in behind Oliver.

Daniel moved in carefully, checking his corners and keeping his sub machine gun aimed downrange, ready for anything. As he approached one of the cashier counters a dirty looking person wearing a hockey mask, a raider, jumped out at him with a lead pipe. Daniel swiftly and accurately unloaded a few rounds through the raider's hockey mask. Then there would be the sound of other raiders within the store yelling and growling, taking up arms.

Daniel put his sub machine gun away and pulled his sniper rifle from his back and started walking across the isles, this was he could see down them length wise and see anyone in them from the far end of the store, taking shot after shot. A few would be taken down with one shot, others were able to find cover. "fish in a barrel." he muttered as he took one last shot at a raider running down the isle.

Daniel put his his rifle away and picked up a shotgun off one of the corpses, carefully walking through the store. He would find a raider on the ground would was still alive but badly wounded from burns. "Should have made a better choice in life kid," Daniel would say as he put a round into the raider's chest to finish him. He kept walking until he reached the back of the store and caught a glimpse of the room the store kept it's protectron security robot. He walked up close to it's capsule and peeked through it's window, intrigued by the mechanical thing.

"thanks." he accepted them happily, putting the pack away in a jacket pocket. He looked down at the shotgun he picked up and put it down on a near by table. "you can have that if you want it, it would weigh me down too much if I kept it."

Daniel walked over to one of the raider's corpses and pulled out his combat knife. He whistled, calling Cosset over, as he started carving into the raider's arm to hand to his dog for something for her to eat if she was hungry. Well, Oliver, I think that perhaps me and my dog will get moving now. The sun will surely set soon."

"I'm just a scavenger," Daniel would chuckle. "Adventures and quests are too fancy for me I suppose. Not like I have evil enemies to chance after or some lost family member to search for. Nah, it's just me and my dog, here in the end of the world." he said coldly as he started making his way toward the front doors.
