After their awakenings, the Hosts received memories from their past that led them to Area 51. At the same time, the Adams chased The Thief to the same place. A confrontation began, in which the US Government authorized elimination of the Hosts, through Agent R and his retinue. The Thief, however, has intervened in order to prevent Agent R from destroying any Eden pods in the fighting.

The Thief and Host-Agent R engage in a brutal match, exhibiting untold power. They fight to a standstill.
At this point, the Hosts realize that the Thief is on their side, and take up arms against R. The Eves enter in time to find the Hosts fighting alongside the Thief. The Adams attack the Thief, prompting the Hosts to attack them.
The Eves engage the Hosts, leaving the Adams to fight the Thief. R joins the Eves in pounding on the Hosts.
After fighting an apparently losing battle, the Thief gathers his power and extracts the Hosts, himself, and all but one of the Eden pods and teleports away, bringing Area 51 down in the process. The Adams, Eves, and Host-Agents escape, Host-Agent R remaining behind to secure the last pod. He carries it from the wreckage.

The Thief and his team encounter the forces of the government, the Host-Agents and Eves, once again. This time, the Thief is on his way to Nova Scotia to meet with a potential new ally.
The government team gets word of it and moves to intercept. They meet and begin fighting in a large hangar in the midst of a snowstorm. The new allies appear - the Nihilites. After demonstrating power equal to that of the Host-Agents, the Nihilites manage to force the fight into a standstill.
The Eves are growing tired and have a hard time fighting, and the Hosts are succumbing to the Hunger. After the intervention of the Thief, involving a mysterious person and a meeting, the Adams leave with the Thief, allowing both sides to retreat peacefully.
